Oh BTW the Cubs are on a 9-game winning streak. Ho-hum.

During which, our starting pitchers have given up two runs total.

That is absurd, regardless of competition for some of it. It's still the bigs.

Any projections on which way the Cardinals will order their starting rotation beyond Lackey? Also while I have no problem with Lester having a personal Catcher during the regular season, as a starting Catcher needs occasional rest anyways, Ross' awful bat does not belong in a postseason lineup.

Because if anything deserves to follow up the idiotic "La Stella has no business being on the roster" rhetoric, it's the "Ross has no business being on the roster" rhetoric.

Guess on lineup??? I think 1 of Coghlan or Soler plays over LaStella

Fowler- CF

Schwarber- LF

Rizzo- 1B

Bryant- 3B

Coghlan- RF

Castro- 2B

Ross- C

Lester- P

Russell- SS

Lester will hit 9th. I think you'll see Bryant and Rizzo switched, Russell 7th, Ross 8th. Wouldn't be surprised to see Montero start either. At the very least, if the Cubs have RISP and Ross is coming up, I'd imagine Joe wouldn't hesitate to pinch hit with Montero, as early as the 2nd if he has to.

negative: i'll be missing this game and most of the games the cubs play the rest of the way home.

positive: i'll be in fiji and new zealand.

Better news: the games have already been played there.

Oh my God I forgot David Ross existed

Did you miss him putting his hand on the throat of Puerto Rican Bret Michaels last night before the psycho went all Rocky on the water cooler in the loser's dugout?

I'm guessing Lackey/Garcia/Wacha/Lynn

Possibly switch Lynn and Wacha given how bad he's been the last few months but the Cubs have hit them both well so it doesn't matter

Meh. I prefer him defensively to Montero at this point. Miguel seemed to have a jelly arm towards the end of the season when he was trying to throw anyone out.

So I was thinking about how Lackey had better traditional stats than Lester this year. 2.77 ERA vs 3.43 for Lester

Then I took a look at FIP...2.92 for Lester and 3.53 for Lackey

Gotta get Soler and Coghlan in there, right?

Also, doesn't look like this will be a candidate for the "Rizzo Game"
