Rodney still has good stuff, unlike Soriano. Grimm had already been used, and their top hitters weren't up, so Maddon decided to save Strop and Rondon. Rodney got 2 K's and a grounder, to go along with that homerun. It sucks that he hung that changeup and the wind took it, but I don't think having Rondey pitching that inning was so bad.
