Hey, at least they scored some runs!

I want to just fast-forward to the playoffs; the hemming and hawing from the meatballs assuming the worst over the next month is going to be unbearable.

Lineup guess?

I have a feeling he does something random and pushes Schwarber down tonight and goes with

Fowler, CF

Coghlan, RF

Rizzo, 1B

Bryant, 3B

Montero, C

Baez, 2B

Schwarber, LF

Haren, P

Russell, SS

Baez ahead of Schwarber only so that there aren't 4 lefties in a span of 5 batters

There are 32 games left....

If the Cubs go...

10-22, the Giants would have to go at least 16-15 AND the Dodgers at least 12-20 to eliminate the Cubs

16-16, the Giants would have to go at least 22-9 AND the Dodgers at least 18-14 to eliminate the Cubs

18-14, the Giants would have to go at least 24-7 AND the Dodgers at least 20-12 to eliminate the Cubs

20-12, the Giants would have to go at least 26-5 AND the Dodgers at least 22-10 to eliminate the Cubs

Remember, the Giants and Dodgers are guaranteed to have at least 5 more combined losses, making it even tougher.

Thanks for doing this, I was planning on going to do it later tonight when I had time. Slight correction though, Giants/Dodgers have 6 more guaranteed losses. 2 more games in the current series and a 4 game series the 2nd to last series of the year.

Why are you so worried about them that you would take the time to figure all this out?

/not serious

Did anybody hear JD refer to the Reds elimination number last night as a "tragic number"? I don't think I had heard that term before, but I like it.

Same here. The Pirates and Cardinals have sucked away all of my enthusiasm for the regular season. Just get it over with and give me Arrieta on the mound in Pittsburgh.

Haha.

It's weird because it's not like I am dejected about finishing behind them. I am still super, super excited for the playoffs. It's just kinda like when you are driving somewhere for vacation, and it's a long way away, and you are really excited when you start driving, but then you get more bored the closer you get to arriving.

Wind blowing out tonight. Just hope Haren can limit the HRs.

i like how this is where we are with haren. we know better than to bother wishing that he pitches well or doesn't give up any hr, so we just pray that he can keep it to three hr allowed.

Where I am at is knowing that there will be three home runs allowed, but hoping we get sequencing luck and that they are all solo shots.
