A lot of people who met him say he's a prick also.

Maybe this is swaying my perception, as he was pretty cool and a regular guy when I've met him.

a guy i know worked at a wrigleyville bar when samardzija was first up but not very successful yet. he said jeff would often come in and drink by himself for a long while before making an extremely casual (and unsuccessful) effort to pick up a woman on his way out.

I remember hearing such tales about Kyle Farnsworth, only his attempts were neither causal nor unsuccessful. And as legend has it, he was married to (or dating) a stripper at the time.

he doesn't seem like a dick or anything (and i don't blame him for hating the cubs), but he has said/done some pretty meaty things recently. i think he fits perfectly with the sox.

Things that are true:

-Uggla hit a three-run home run on Tuesday to beat the Braves

-Uggla is getting paid $12.7M by the Braves this year

-The Braves are paying Uggla more money than any other player this year.

Did anybody see the Cole Kalhoun review from last night that New York somehow clearly missed? Multiple angles showed Calhoun touching the base before the 2B caught the ball. Still stayed with the out call.

Up to the Pirates series, the Cards played one of the weakest schedules in baseball, and then won three consecutive extra inning games. They're the best team in the division, but they're also due for a correction. It may or may not come against us, but they're not going to keep playing .750 ball.

Yeah, they've been unbelievably lucky thus far. The Pirates left like 18 guys on base before they got to extra innings yesterday. And there's no way their pen holds up with the lack of starters innings they're going to get out of the bag of crap replacing Wainwright.

You know that's not going to happen. They'll find someone that eats up those innings.

You mean like Alex Reyes with the 15+% strikeout rate in AA?

My fantasy opponent has Arenado, Tulowitzki and Betts, so you could say today hasn't gone great.

(Obligatory 'no one cares')

Nah man, that's rough. This board needs more fantasy talk, damnit.
