The Brewers are so bad. People talk about how they were in first place for so long last season, but don't seem to realize that it was because of a ridiculous start, and that they were mediocre-bad for at least 2/3 of the year. That team is in a bad way.

From what I've read, their ownership doesn't seem to recognize the severity of their position, but if they have any sense, they'll fire sale this season. As much as I detest him (and as unlikely as it would be for them to trade him to the Cubs), Carlos Gomez would look nice in our OF.

The regret over the Braun contract has to be pretty severe.

even in my super-optimistic happy times i don't pretend we have a non-fluke chance at finishing higher than the cardinals.

They'd have to have some pitching injuries for sure.

Brandon has a voodoo doll or some [expletive]

Some pitching injuries, you say?

I love Carlos Gomez and would welcome him with open arms

Anyone who wouldn't is a nutcase. Coghlan is pretty good with the bat, but get Gomez into an outfield with Fowler and Soler and you have a bunch of stud hitters and an outfield that can run down just about anything

AND THE CUBS WOULD HAVE TO GET COLE HAMELS FOR JAVY BAEZ.

Alex Gordon is so good defensively. Earlier he caught a liner on the run and then threw back across his body (from fairly deep in LF) and doubled the runner off at 2B. Then he makes a ridiculous catch, jumping into the crowd on the LF line. And he just looks so casual doing this stuff.

That diving catch in the stands was amazing...

So apparently tomorrow's game at Camden tomorrow at 1:05cst and will NOT be open to the public. And the Orioles series with the Rays this weekend will now be played at Tropicana.

Hardly fair they let the White Sox play in front of their home crowd in Baltimore.

@castrovince So empty at Camden Yards you can hear Jeff Samardzija's ERA rising.

I don't know why a part of me is enjoying Samardzija's struggles when I sympathized with Matt Garza for having basically the exact same complaints he did. And yet I am.

Because Shark was always a better fit for the south side.
