The HC hire was bad enough.. add Kiffin to the mix and it could get comical there.

Especially because Kiffin is a pass first guy who is arrogant enough to try and make Kaepernick fit his offense rather than the other way around. Always use a scheme that fits your players strengths the best.

Lane has actually proven to be pretty versatile when it comes to offensive schemes. While at Tennessee, he had an immobile QB and ran a vertical, pro-style offense that rarely was in the shotgun. At Alabama with Blake Sims, he ran a lot more shotgun than at Tennessee and mixed in QB runs effectively.

Lane is a lot of things, but a very good, versatile offensive coach is one of those.

He wouldn't last long. Tomsula has been there 8 years, is loved by all players and is considered very close with the front office and owner. They have a yes man as a head coach, Kiffin would be cutting off his own head. Wouldn't be the first time he's done that though so I wouldn't be surprised.

It wouldn't surprise me if Lane's ambition overrode his intelligence. He puts up a good front, though, so I think he'd have a shot to make it work.

Jags hire Doug Marrone as assistant head coach-offensive line.

LMAO

I'll take a demotion and get paid $4M. Sounds like the FO in Buffalo was kind of a mess and he didn't have a good relationship there. Definitely odd he ends up there though.

Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo

Note on Doug Marrone that slipped through the cracks recently: He interviewed for the 49ers' head coaching job.

He lost out to a guy who can't actually form complete sentences.

Kubiak taking Broncos HC job

I still would have preferred Kubiak over Fox for some reason, but whatever he didn't want to come here so I'm all on board with Fox.

Trestman is going to be the new Baltimore OC.

This of course means that Marc Trestman replaced Gary Kubiak who replaced John Fox who replaced Marc Trestman.

I've got a huge problem with my hometown's solution.

"Hey everyone! Let's build a brand new, billion $ stadium on the riverfront in 2019, with no team guaranteed to play there! And we'll only charge taxpayers for half!

Then, let's build it only three feet above the high-water mark from the 1993 flood, because that's "usually only a 500 year occurrence"

1844: Long considered to have been the record flood in

St. Louis, hydrologists have downgraded estimates of its peak flow to

less than that of 1993. The crest estimate, based upon newspaper

accounts, was 41.3 feet, even though the St. Louis gauge wasn't created

for another two decades. Flooding reached two blocks into the riverfront

district.

1903: The flood devastated East St. Louis, which was

protected only by a few low levees and railroad embankments. The crest

of 38 feet covered much of the American Bottom, including parts of

Granite City. Afterward, East St. Louis began building its first

floodwalls.

So only four of these "500 year floods" in the past 171. Great job as always Slay. Another job well botched.
