I think that's a weird hire for the Bills. Pretty much the same situation as the Jets. Lot of defensive talent. Defensive coach that can't find a QB or OC and can't get past the Patriots in the division. Really surprised they didn't go after Frank Reich. Offensive coach, ex player. Seems like best case over the next several years to be 10 wins, 2nd place in East abd the occasional playoff win.

I think it's a pretty decent hire for Buffalo. I can't imagined they expected to get an established head coach with a history of winning despite shoddy QB play. At least prior to 2014.

I wonder if Rex will keep running the 4-3 in Buffalo. Even though he's known for his 3-4 D's, he did coach on 4-3 defenses early in his career and apparently uses some elements of 4-3 and the 46 even in New York.

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter

If Seahawks lost to Panthers, Jets were prepared to fly to Seattle last night to try to hire Dan Quinn as their head coach, per sources.

He should. That team is built for the 4-3. They were a 3-4 and actually intentionally added 4-3 talent. If they want to bring back Jerry Hughes, they better stay 4-3. He was terrible in a 3-4 as a Colt.

Yeah, I get that. Rex is definitely the best coach on the market. But I think the goal should be to develop a QB instead of winning in spite of lacking one. I'm sure that's not the long term goal and they want to find a QB to go with their outstanding defense, but nothing about Rex says that's likely to happen.

Going in to today's game I was all, "oh, jeez, I don't know who I want to lose more," but after just five minutes it became crystal clear that I want the Packers to lose and to lose bloodily.

The only thing that could have possibly swayed it was if Dallas has a coordinator I wanted the Bears to interview

Just heard Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli is expected to become the defensive coordinator in Tampa.

As a Cowboys fan, I've heard that rumor for awhile. The only question I have, is what becomes of Leslie Frazier. I wouldn't think a guy like him would take a demotion, so he must be leaving. He would make someone a good DC, maybe Marinelli's replacement in Dallas?

Wait. What happened to Leslie Frazier?

As of right now, he's still DC in Tampa- but there's been the Marinelli rumors of him joining Lovie there. He wanted to go last year, and Cowboys denied him permission to leave, so Lovie hired Frazier.

Yeah but he hasn't been fired. He seems respected enough that the Bucs wouldn't go behind his back and hire someone else.

That has been my feeling as well. There's the rumor being floated by PFT that Marinelli is gone. Not sure who the source is. I have heard the rumor numerous times and paid little mind to it because of the fact that Tampa doesn't have an opening at DC. Maybe Frazier is let go tomorrow and Marinelli signs with Tampa.

I like Marinelli and I hope Jerry is able to keep the whole staff together, but if Marinelli leaves for Tampa, then my guess is Frazier is looking for work. I like him a lot and think he could also help here. So, if we trade Marinelli for Frazier, I consider that a wash, even if my preference is for Dallas to keep this staff together another 3-4 years.

The one I think we are most likely to lose is Callahan. He had to take a demotion to bring in Linehan and I could see him looking for a new opportunity as OC somewhere.

Member of the Broncos coaching staff tells me that the entire staff has been notified during group meeting that can/should “look elsewhere."

Not just Fox, but the entire staff.

Maybe they aren't giving the job to Gase.

I figured when the rumors first started yesterday that Elway was going to go after Kubiak. Unless he can convince Kubiak to change his mind, though, I have no idea where they're going to look.

Maybe Shanahan?
