Parker, 6-0, 206 pounds, finished last season with 94 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one interception in 16 games.

 

The 27-year old has spent five seasons in the NFL, playing with the Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks.

 

The Eagles' are attracted to Parker because of his ability to play both cornerback and safety, as he has experience at both in the NFL. Safety, however, is considered his natural position.

I would be more than happy to see someone that can move Fuller or Jennings into the slot. Fuller's struggles could likely extend into his soph season more than hoped and Jennings is on the decline. Chris Culliver would be ideal. There are so many holes it really doesn't hurt to add anywhere.

We need a CB. But it doesn't look like we'll spend big to do so. Lots of chatter about other FA positions on D. Pretty silent on CBs. If they added a top 3 pick and a low level, but youngish FA at CB I'd be fine with it if we're making upgrades elsewhere.

For whatever reason we have never been in-play for top FA corners.

 

A lot of it was that in Lovie's defense, the corners weren't in 1 on 1 coverage a whole heck of a lot, therefore negating the need to have unbelievable cover skills. A guy like Tillman, a very good cover guy, but could also tackle well, which a lot of the very good cover CBs can't do, was the ideal Tampa-2 corner.

 

Now that they're moving to a 3-4 with presumably more blitzing and 1 on 1 coverage, a top CB is more of a necessity and one of the reasons I'm worried about Jennings who has good ball skills and is a solid tackler, but isn't the best in 1 on 1 coverage.

Huge change to the defense that has me wondering how many of the following fit well into this new scheme, and are any worth a draft pick if they don't:

 

Will Sutton

Ego Ferguson

Jay Ratliff

David Bass

Lamarr Houston

Cornelius Washington

Willie Young (will he even be healthy enough to come back?)

Jared Allen

Shea McClellin

 

I'm guessing Bostic and Christian Jones are going to be the two inside linebackers, but I'm really at a loss what they intend to do with most of these other guys with this changeover.

 

ETA: I purposely left out McPhee since we can already assume he has a role that works with the 3/4.

I think Green stays in Denver, shorter deal, and hopes to capitalize on a year of being the feature TE with Manning. But, I like the thought of him coming and think if he signs here it means Bennett is on the trade block, or a post June 1 cut.
