Yay, I get to watch Freeze run it up the middle 30 times for a net 2 yard gain against Auburn this weekend.

Ole Miss' 10 games streak of holding opponents to 20 or fewer points will end this weekend.

At least I'll get to watch Maryland beat PSU early in the day

Weren't you projecting how they could go undefeated this year?

Ha, no. I thought they could win 8, and felt really good after a 4-0 start. They've since lost to (at home) to a mediocre Northwestern team, on the road to a terrible Michigan team (who was playing a QB who could barely walk), and then a surprising game last night. The O-Line is the worst I've seen in my nearly 30 years of watching this team, which means no running game and Hackenberg running for his life. The defense is the only thing keeping them in games.

Tennessee looked good against Alabama after a horrid start. Josh Dobbs was pretty impressive once he came in, but I've got to wonder why Butch had Peterman start the game. The man has some kind of weird obsession with bad QBs or something I guess.

Not confident about South Carolina Saturday. This is a winnable game, but our offense is going to have to be productive because Carolina's offense is going to score and Spurrier is probably going to outcoach Butch. Hopefully Dobbs finishes the year as the starter since we burned his redshirt.

Kentucky is going to smoke Mizzou. Which is a weird football sentence.

I'm a fan of a team that is 29-1 in the past 30 meetings between Tennessee and Kentucky and I'll be rather shocked if UT is able to win when that games gets here. That's insane to me (no offense UK).

Ole Miss opens as a 3 point favorite. Auburn has a deficiency at defensive end this year. They are ok against the run , but the DEs are not getting a pass rush, so I imagine Bo Wallace will have a decent night through the air. It should be a good game.

Depends on if Freeze lets Wallace have a good game. This entire season Freeze has basically been playing not to lose because the defense is so incredible. So his offensive play calling is almost ludicrously conservative given the many weapons they have offensively. However, I think he will open it up against Auburn.

Standing between IU and a bowl game are Michigan and Penn St. I never thought I'd see the day where IU could realistically win both of these games. However, with breaking in a new freshman QB who was absolutely terrible last week, there's about a 10% chance IU wins either of these, despite the fact they should have about 97 sacks combined in the next 2 weeks.

Must be nice...

Nick Saban may earn in the area of $7 million per year, but that doesn't stop the Alabama faithful from helping out their championship-winning coach whenever and however they can.

According to a report from AL.com, the Crimson Tide Foundation paid off Saban's $3.1 million home in January 2013 even though the organization was under no obligation to do so.

It's unlikely but if the following happens:

Auburn beats Ole Miss

LSU beats Bama

Bama beas Miss St.

Ole Miss beat Miss St.

Bama beats Auburn

And if those five teams win all of their other games, we'll have a five-way tie of teams at 10-2 overall, 6-2 in the SEC and 2-2 against each other.

Expand the playoff to 5 teams so all of them can get in.

Or to 8, you mean. Those 5 plus FSU, and 2 of Oregon/MSU/TCU/Kansas State if they win out.

It's about as likely as any other scenario. Could see all those things happening. Those things happening only requires 1 road team to win (AU @ Ole Miss).

It'll be 8 eventually

And it's going to suck. The only good thing that came out of the BCS was it made every game affect every other one in the title picture. If every power conference gets an automatic bid, there's no reason for anyone in B1G country to care about an SEC game, and vice versa.

ND could finish #5 this year and I'd still be vehemently against any further playoff expansion.

Like it or not, it's going to happen.

A) AD's and conference commissioners are going to lose their [expletive] when their teams are left out this year.

B) Mo money, mo money.

I honestly would love to see it. Miss St vs TCU, Mich St vs Bama, Georgia vs ND, Oregon vs FSU? Yes, please.

I don't think an 8-team playoff really dilutes the field all that much, especially with the stipulation that it includes the "Big 5" champions.

So for this year, you'd be looking at:

SEC champ (Georgia vs MSU/Bama/Ole Miss/Auburn winner)

ACC champ (FSU)

Pac-12 champ (Oregon)

B1G champ (MSU/OSU)

B12 champ (Baylor/TCU)

and then 3 teams from among ND, the SEC runners up, and the runners up in the B1G and B12.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: #FSU's leading rusher Karlos Williams is a suspect in domestic battery case. There's gonna be a helluva 30for30 on this Noles team one day.
