What a huge win for Tennessee. First win in Columbia since 2006, first SEC win of the year and, most importantly, the 4th win of the year. Now we need to just beat 2 of Missouri/UK/Vandy and that's doable since Vandy is a near guaranteed win.

Dobbs and Hurd were absolutely terrific tonight, though the offensive line had some struggles and the defense was largely nonexistent most of the night. All 3 of this group of games (SC/UK/Mizz) were basically coinflips I figure, so it's nice to get one win in quickly.

I haven't seen a lot of UT this year, but I've been impressed. Even though they clearly aren't even close to ready in the way of experienced talent, they've been feisty as hell all year. Butch has you on the right track.

Disappointed in the coaching decision by Stoops to not go for the FG against Mizzou while down by two possessions.

It's going to come down to UK vs UT for any bowl chance. Tenn is playing better of the two right now.

It's a shame Ole Miss has to lose on the same results of a devastating horse-collar tackle. They should not have called it that but next year, the officials should have the ability to call that one a personal foul.

Well, Stannis' wishes came true for him.

Devastation. I've not been this distraught over anything in my life since 2003 NLCS.

In the span of one foot on one play, Ole Miss lost its best player for the season and possibly a division, conference, and/or national title. That was evilness from the football gods the likes of which I would not wish upon my very worst enemy.

I'm just heartbroken for Treadwell. Because he fumbled and because we lost, his injury was completely in vain. Just awful. Sick. Vomit.

Also, Auburn. Freaking Auburn.

Worst ways to lose a football game:

A) Hail Mary where your defenders get a hand on the ball and deflect it in stride to an opposing receiver for a TD as time expires.

B) Missed field goal returned against you 109 yards for the winning TD as time expires.

C) Superstar player breaks leg and fumbles as he is a foot from the goal line in what was likely the game winning TD.

Auburn is simply evil under Malzahn. It defies logic how they can continually have all these bounces go their way. Marshall is a great playmaker, there is no denying his skill as a runner especially, but as an actual passing QB, he LITERALLY just heaves the ball down the field like a punt and his guys will ALWAYS come down with it. Three different times tonight, twice on third and long, he just heaved it into the air with hangtime that would have made Ray Guy proud and somehow despite having multiple defenders right on top of their receivers, those receivers always came down with it.

During Auburn's game against Mississippi State, I think Satan, God, Jesus, or whatever deity is helping them these past two years, must have been taking a dump the whole time and missed the game.

I'll have to ask Fiver this, but are Auburn fans self-aware of this voodoo?

If Butch has done anything at Tennessee, it's get the players behind him and believing they can do anything. My only real concerns with Butch are how well does he develop players and how well can he and his coaches do in-game (strategy and adjustments).

I'm starting to think Butch could be the long term answer at Tennessee, but I think he'll need to make coaching staff changes. He's very loyal to these guys, though, so we'll see if he does it.

I definitely feel bad for you. I hate to win on a play like that, but at the same time, I love to win. Without the fumble, I still had hope that with 1 minute 30 left in the game, AU would get in at least field goal position to tie it.

I'm not Nick Marshall's biggest fan. He's great at extending plays, he is very slippery, but he's not an NFL quarterback. This year, he almost always focuses on Duke Williams, and he hasn't been spreading the ball around. He often short arms passes to the running back and WR screen passes. He has thrown the ball just accurately enough the past two years to compliment a strong running game.

Auburn has two big WRs this year in Duke Williams and Sammie Coates that will be drafted. They both know how to use their body to make space, and they both have the ability to regularly catch the ball in traffic. Ole Miss is really good on third down, the windows they allow are really small, and aren't conducive to Marshall have extended success with mid distance passes. Marshall heaved a couple long ones in the air to Coates, and he made plays. The numbers look good for Marshall, but this was not his best passing game aesthetically. Auburn's backup qb, Jeremy Johnson, is more of the prototypically, tall accurate pocket passer, and I think he's going to be a great one starting next year.

As an Auburn fan, I see Gus's alliance as being with Fortuna and not the devil, but yes, this win didn't really feel like a win until I woke up this morning, and it does fall into the same category as the win against Georgia last year. I do believe AU had a legitimate shot at quickly driving the ball to get a field goal to tie it if the fumble didn't exist.

From a non-Auburn fan's perspective, what do you think about Gus? He says all of the right things in his interviews, gives all of the credit to his players, and just seems to be a pretty likeable guy overall if you aren't playing against him.

Cameron Artis-Payne has really turned it on the last few games. I don't think he's doing much differently, but Auburn is blocking better on the edges and even some of the runs that were supposed to go inside, Artis-Payne kicked outside for good yardage. Auburn's running game appears to be back on track.

We just need Bama to destroy mississippi state so brutally that they removed from the equation. There are 20 or so teams I'd favor over miss state which is really dumb ad a 1 this late in the year. And seriously they need to consider some players to discuss as heisman candidates because Dak Prescott isn't close to being a heisman finalist calibre player.

This is definitely a down SEC. Got a lot of good teams but nobody is consistent. The SEC champ, assuming it comes from the west should get in nobody else. Bama now controls it with home games if they are able to beat LSU next week. if Bama wins out they are the best team in te country.

If LSU beats Bama at home and then Bama wins out, and ole miss beats miss state then the sec west will be 5 2-loss teams. That would be a fun tiebreaker.

The officiating in that final game to ensure that wouldn't happen would be epic.

Thats not an outlandish scenario. The only upset is LSU beating Bama at home, which is not outside of the realm of possibility.

Also not outside the realm of possibility is Florida representing the SEC east in the SEC championship game. You could have an LSU-Florida rematch for the SEC title. Need some help from Mizzou, but Florida is absolutely in the hunt.

A&M is not a good football team right now. Very disappointing. The pathetic OL play is most disturbing. That was not expected at all. Defensive struggles are not a big surprise but I still anticipated better play from them. I sure hope we can hold onto our great recruiting class at this point.

I think you will but if Mack and Murray bail it will be interesting. Malik Jefferson won't be going to A&M which will impact Mack. Plus Mack is a front running diva. Murray is awesome, could to where he goes in the 1st round of the MLB draft.

I went to see Kyler play Friday night. That kid is ridiculous. He will win a Heisman and probably at least one national championship wherever he plays at the next level. I just hope he stick with his A&M commitment. If he sticks I think Mack will stick too but I tend to agree that the Malik ship has sailed. We could really use a great LB like him.

Florida is bad. A fluke win over Georgia doesn't change that. They're not in the hunt at all.

Florida is not bad. Running for 500 yards against a team is not a fluke. They physically destroyed Georgia. A fluke is losing 42-13 to a team that gained 100 yards of total offense. Florida has a ton of talent and when they dont play Driskel or shoot themselves in the foot, they are a pretty good team. They should have beaten LSU if it werent for a million things, notably a late conversion of a 3rd and 25.

If florida beats USC they will be 5-3 in conference with the tiebreaker over Georgia. If Mizzou wins any of their 3 remaining games they win the division, if they lose all three (they probably wont but they could) then Georgia wins the division. Whether they are good or bad doesnt change the fact that they are in the hunt. They will finish 1st or 2nd in the division, Thats in the hunt.

Since Oct. 6, 2013, Florida has gone 4-10 with a loss to Georgia Southern. They've not been playing good football under Muschamp for a long time now until yesterday.

Sure, they played great against a Georgia team that inexplicably couldn't stop the run even though Florida didn't even bother to pretend they wanted to throw the ball. However, that doesn't erase these stats:

vs Alabama: gave up 672 total yards; gained 200 total yards

vs Tennessee: gained 232 yards and scored 10 pts against a team likely to finish .500 or worse

vs Missouri: 6 turnovers including each of a kick, punt, fumble and INT return for TDs

Those aren't flukes. Those are examples of Florida playing very bad football. One game doesn't change that.

I think Florida is an ok team. They beat Tennessee and Kentucky and should have beaten LSU. Then they destroyed Georgia. Yes they were destroyed by Bama and had a disaster game against mizzou. They have had such horrendous QB play the last two years it's been impossible to be consistent hence the 4-10. Prior to that they had a great season en route to a sugar bowl birth.

They are about as good as I think they are. Ok and gangrenous to even the best teams if they play well.

We will see how good they can e when they play FSU.

Regardless of Florida's quality, their chance at winning the East is so small it's hardly worth mentioning. They need:

- To win out @Vandy and v.SC - probable, but they could absolutely drop one

- Georgia to split @UK and v.Auburn - Again the most likely outcome, but Georgia is very capable of winning(or losing) both and eliminating Florida

- Mizzou to lose @UT and split @aTm/v.Ark - Mizzou's not a terrific team, but the odds of them going 1-2 and going 1-2 in that narrow way are not high

Add those together and it compounds to be mostly wishful thinking.
