I'm friends with Lester's wife's family and they know me to be a diehard Cubs fan... I mentioned some stuff earlier in this thread and was somewhat mocked (deservedly so, I must admit, given the whole Ferris Bueller-esque "best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl" connection I'm providing as my source). But nevertheless, I'm telling the truth and you can feel free to hope with me.

I'm probably dumb, but I'm 95% sure that Epstein doesn't put out all this talk about getting big pitchers if he didn't already have Lester most of the way done before the offseason even began.

Normally I'd be pissed that a high profile FA is visiting when it's like 10 degrees and only mid-November but Lester lived in Boston for 10 years. He knows what's up.
