Yeah, he posted the Boston and then Chicago visit before it was publicly revealed, so nocode seems legit. That said, I'm not sure that text means THAT much. We know he could be a Cub, and he's probably just telling nocode that since he knows he's a cubs fan. Edited by RammyFanny

i'm already being a bit of a dick by posting what i am... alas, i have no cubs fans friends to talk with about this and i guess i try use that to justify my info splurging.. it would be kinda cool to be a northside forum legend though.

i do tend to agree. but hopefully he'd be hesitant to get my hopes up unless there was a significant chance of it happening.

That would be kind of funny if the father-in-law was just messing with him and stringing him along.

Without knowing much about Lester's father-in-law, that seems much more likely than the guy having some kind of direct line to the negotiations. I'm not even sure my father in law could reliably tell you what I do for a living.

with all due respect, Lester is a famous baseball player while the belt you are wearing right now is just an electrical cord.

I'd imagine Lester's father in law actually cares about what his son in law does for a living.

I think you guys both missed the point. I don't believe that Lester's father-in-law is ignorant of his son's profession, but I don't think there's any particular reason to believe that he has some up to the second inside scoop on Lester's negotiations either.

You wouldn't be interested in news relating to what city your daughter and grand kids are going to be living in half the year?

I think he's simply not in a position to have detailed information on the negotiations. I think he's not interested in pestering his son in law every hour or so for some hot stove scoops.

Do you actually think it's more likely that Lester's father in law just texted a scoop to some random guy?

Maybe his wife talks to her parents about where she and her kids might be living next year which is in the process of being decided

Someone less lazy than I figure out if nocode's post about Lester's meeting schedule came before the reports about them came out.

I can't believe we're arguing this.

"Hi Dad. Miss you. Kids are great."

"How was Chicago?"

"Good! Jon really liked it."
