if we make the playoffs next year and our games are on TBS, I might have to get one of those devices to sync the radio up with the tv (since there's a delay on satellite)

this is truly horrendous

Have you ever listened to Ron Coomer?

He's bad. Very, very bad. But at least Hughes is there (who I'm not a huge fan of) who alone makes up for this Ernie Johnson terribleness.

St. Louis mayor's response to this:

And SB Nation's response to that:

We’re sorry for producing ... two of the 10 best-selling beers in the world—Budweiser and Bud Light.

Well that settles it. We're sorry St. Louis. We were wrong.

The point is that we here in the Midwest are not a boastful people. We're humble and quietly go about our business, inventing the things you use every day, entertaining you, finding employment for your citizens and handing you losses on the baseball field regularly. (We're especially sorry to Chicago.)

There's nothing so humble as bragging about how superior your humility is.

It also kind of implies Chicago is now in the Midwest.

@jonahkeri Going to be so amazing when Royals win the World Series & 29 teams play copycat by making terrible pitching decisions & constantly bunting.

The Royals winning would be the next best thing to the Cubs winning just for the angst it would cause here.

Today, the Cardinals aim for their 51st playoff win since the last time the Cubs won one.

Please don't make me want to kill you as much as I want to kill the Cardinals fans I'm around every day by doing this.

Direct your anger at fate for allowing the Cardinals to be so good and the people running the Cubs for making them so bad.

They're also looking for their 14th postseason series win in that period. The Cubs have one in the last 105 years.

This here. Not saying that I would want to construct a team of scrappy gritty guys, but if this is who you've got I don't blame the manager for going small ball. You can't go all Earl Weaver with that roster.

Yeah, I think the first quote of this thought I meant NSBB too. I want to see the groaning and teeth gnashing if KC wins it. They bitch about the KC inferiority complex toward St. Louis like they don't have the same thing going for Chicago. And then there was this FB post this morning:

It's that time of year again - the St. Louis Cardinals are in the postseason, the Cubs are not. And, once again, Cubs fans feel the need to hate on the Cardinals. So sad.

I should point out that over the last decade (05-14), the Cubs average payroll was 108.7 million while the Cards was 99.6 million.

And they continue to wonder why they have the rep they do.
