Iowa DH, Hendricks, Black & Blackburn = \:D/

Is Black still looked at as primarily a pen guy or has he changed any minds about that with his performance this year?

He's walking more guys than ever, so he probably hasn't changed any minds yet. No reason not to keep starting him for now though.

My company has an outing at the KC Cougars game today. Excited to see Blackburn and Schwarber, assuming he doesn't get promoted today.

Baez with 68% contact rate in June (was 56% in April, 58% in May)

perhaps non-coincidentally, swing rate is 44% in June (Apr: 54%, May: 53%)

this pleases me greatly

more funny business: Alcantara is younger than Oscar Taveras and has a better wRC+ in the PCL

Whats the Cardinals home park like? Iowa's is supposed to be one of the least hitter friendly, right?

(watch me be totally missing the fact that wRC+ is park adjusted or something)

But don't worry, Eli Whiteside is 1-1.

Hendricks 3 IP, 6 Hits but 0 BB and 5 K too.

I remember the days when this board would lose itself over a BJax RBI triple. :(

yeah those were dark days.

At the peak of BJax's prospect days, when he was our #1 prospect, where would he fit in our current top 10?

Jackson peaked in the 30-45 range depending on who's list you're looking at. Depending on your opinion of the current prospects, that'd put him somewhere between 3rd and 5th. Maybe 6th if you looooove Schwarber's bat.

A 21 year old CF that put up .316/.420/.517 in A+ and then .276/.366/.465 in AA? He's be pretty highly regarded even in the current system.

Or to be more specific (like TT) somewhere in the 3-6 range...

Maybe valued similarly to Almora or maybe just a tad higher?

Speaking of BJax, why does he get less playing time in the OF than Vitters? Is he really that much less of a "prospect" than Vitters at this point?

I don't have the hitting #'s but when you see them, they are not pretty.

Yes. Vitters has a 1 in a million shot to make it. Jackson is 0 in a million.

Other than last year, BJax has out OPSed Vitters at every level. Actually, 2012 too, but not by much. Plus, he's a better defender than Vitters.

They both suck but Jackson is a year older and doing a little worse this year. But it doesn't really matter. Because as I said, they both suck.
