I'm guessing the last few games have flipped Baez' day/night splits.

Day: .255/.304/.431/.735

Night: .168/.241/.373/.614

His night OPS has gone up about 270 points since Parks' note on Monday.

Further proof that Parks is actually Kyle.

So we know Baez has to figure out a league before he starts crushing it. I don't expect the MLB Cubs to do this, but would it be smart to bring up Baez in August/September to let him figure out MLB and have him suck while the rest of the team sucks?

I wish.

Why?

We're both douchey annoying baseball fans who spend too much time on the internet. He's doing it better.

Ask him for a job.

Yeah, I'm sure Kyle would make a fine sycophant for Parks.

If that's your worry, any time through 2018 is likely to be fine.

the 2014 cubs currently have a positive run differential.

can't wait to see them hang the "2014 run differential champs" banner.

Tell me about it. These are the same idiots that think other teams will actually want to trade for Samardzija and his 0-4 record.

I'm agreeing with you. When trying to predict future performance, all you need is W/L for teams, AVG for hitters, and W/L for pitchers. These nerds keep trying to play the game with their D&D computer crap.

yeah, except w/l records for teams actually matter. good try though.

pretty sure the results the pitcher gets matter too

The pitcher's results don't tell you what he did to contribute to the result. The team result tells you what the team did.

i'm also pretty sure that when discussing the quality of cub teams for the next five years, we should look at how good the current team is, and the run differential would suggest that the current cub team is not nearly as bad as its record would indicate.
