How's Matt Miller's draft stuff on Bleacher Report?

I'm a fan of his stuff.

He's also a HUGE Alshon Jeffery fan.

Matt Miller is really good. If you have a chance, read all his weekly updates from all year. My favorite source this year, I'd say, though a lot of others haven't really gotten going on the draft just yet.

Interesting stats. AJ McCarron career when he passes the ball over 30 times.

2013

Miss - 25 for 32, 180 yards, 0 TD, 1 Int. (win)

UK -21 for 35, 359 yards. 1 TD, 0 Int (win)

MSU - 18 for 32, 187 yards, 2 TD, 2 Int. (win)

Okl - 19 for 30, 387 yards 2 TD, 2 Int. (loss)

2012

Miss - 22 for 30, 180 yards, 2 TD, 0 Int (win)

TXAM - 21 for 34, 309 yards, 1 TD, 2 Int (loss)

2011

PSU - 19 for 31, 163 yards, 1 TD, 0 Int (win)

Vandy - 23 for 30, 237 yards, 4 TD, 0 Int (win)

LSU - 23 for 34, 234 yards, 0 TD, 0 Int. (win)

That Vandy game is the only "really good" game. Granted, no really bad games either, but every other game is either lacking ypa, TD/INT, or completion %.

If a team loves his intangibles he could go 2nd round, I wouldn't touch him before Day 3.

I love A.J. McCarron and what he's done for the SEC, but there's no way someone could think he's a second rounder. He just seems like a game manager. Edited by Formerly Snayke

Walterfootball's last mock was done before the Cutler signing, but they had the Bears getting McCarron in the 2nd round. That was what prompted me to ask for other mock sources.

I love what A.J. McCarron and what he's done for the SEC,

What has AJ McCarron done for the SEC?

Quarterbacked two national championship teams? Carried himself as a role model? Snagged Katherine Webb?

Didn't he have to beat SEC teams to accomplish that?

You said it yourself, he's a game manager. Any number of QBs could have quarterbacked those teams to national championships.

McCarron didn't do squat for the SEC, Saban did.

McCarron as a second rounder would be a huge reach in my estimation. I think he can play at that level, but he won't be special, might not be a starter, and seems pretty maxed out. I'd definitely take Bridgewater, Carr, Bortles, Hundley, Smith, Manziel, Fales, Garrapolo, over him in a vacuum.

The WR class in this draft is sick - all of these guys have arguments for being picked in the first two rounds:

Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State

Brandon Coleman, WR, Rutgers

Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State

Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M

Marqise Lee, WR, Southern California

Paul Richardson, WR, Colorado

Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State

Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt

Plus you have to believe Sammy Watkins, Odell Beckham, Kelvin Benjamin and DeAnthony Thomas will probably turn pro.

Gonna be some nice value at WR in the 3rd round.

Kony Ealy just officially declared in the postgame presser

I'd love him at 14.

Interested to see if Auburn's rs sophomore LT Greg Robison opts to be drafted late first, early second or to come back next year and potentially be a top 10 pick.

I think Robinson will actually get drafted higher than late first given his athleticism and measuables.

I like Kony Ealy a lot too. Think he could be a first rounder, he's definitely a better NFL prospect than Michael Sam.

Yeah I like Robinson more than Kouandijo and Lewan. My #2 OT if he comes out. Top 15 maybe.

Ealy and Gaines (CB) are potential sleeper 1st rounders.

This was wishful thinking on my behalf. It's looking more likely that he is a top 15 pick this year and will probably announce Monday night.

Schefter says the Texans aren't that high on Bridgewater and want to trade out of No. 1.

Good luck with that. The last time a #1 pick was traded was 2004 (Eli) and the last time it was traded before the draft was 2001 (Vick). While some stupid team like Washington last year could sell their future for a pick, I don't think there is a player in this draft that any team is willing to do it for.

Hundley staying at UCLA for his senior season

This year's draft is becoming less interesting at QB seemingly with every passing week. If Manziel and Bortles both go back to school...bleh.

Manziel is still a lock to turn pro, but the class has definitely taken a hit with guys returning and Mettenberger's injury.

Next year's QB class finally might be the elite one: Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, Hundley and Bryce Petty all have potential to be legitimate top-10 picks.

Blake Bortles will turn pro; official announcement tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see if he can catch up to Bridgewater on draft boards.
