Oklahoma CB Aaron Colvin tore his ACL in Senior Bowl practice today.

He's gonna be a great late round pick up by somebody.

Was never really a fan. He just seems so anti-physical to me. He doesn't seem to have very much strength. Means not good in press coverage. Doesn't seem like a real good tackler.

I've read some other down opinions on him. Supposedly he has small hands so you may see his value fall a but after the combine.

Does he smell like cabbage?

Presumably but we may have to wait for private workouts since I do t think the combine has included that test yet.

Kudos to his teammates at Mizzou for supporting him.

Yeah, the team/school comes off looking really good.

I like to think that I follow Mizzou football pretty closely, but I hadn't even heard the murmurings about this that some people are saying have gone on for a while. Really impressed the team and media were able to let him come out on his own terms.

Sam was always going to be a tweener, and I imagine this will make him even more likely to end up as a guy who gets a bunch of sacks a few years from now for some smart organization that isn't afraid and has good coaching.

Jason Collins was a marginal NBA player that you could argue would have found a job in the NBA this year but you can't conclusively say his coming out had to do with him not getting a job.

As a mid round projection it would be hard to pretend coming out wasn't a factor if he just slipped out of the draft.

Trestman seems like the kind of open minded coach that would support drafting him. It's not like we can't use some pass rush.

I definitely heard rumblings within the last year or so, though at that point I was a little more 'connected' than I am now. Definitely wasn't surprised with the announcement, but the timing surprised me for sure.

Definitely hope none of the "anonymous" execs are from the Bears.

You can get away with distractions if you happen to be very good, and you can get away with them if they can be warped into some kind of positive narrative. (Look at him play through the grief!) We pick and choose our distractions, which means they aren't really distractions at all. They are strategically placed pockets of horseshit. If we don't like a distraction—Kluwe supporting the gays, for instance—we brand it. We say Kluwe is "outspoken" (OMG HE LIKES TALKIN'!!!!! THAT'S A DANGER TO THE REPUBLIC!) and let people vilify him as they see fit.

Tim Tebow was an evangelist media whore who appeared in anti-abortion ads and who actually sees himself as a missionary to football. Despite all of the possible distractions he could have caused, the Broncos traded up to pick him in the first round.

As much as I love football, this sort of nonsense is just inexcusable. "Distraction" is, at best, the word of a craven and, at worst, the word of a bigot. The NFL needs to move on from this George Preston Marshall crap.

One would think the fact that Sam told his teammates before this season, they were all so cool with it that it never leaked out, and then they had one of the best seasons in school history with Sam as a key leader would put the "distraction" stuff to bed, but the NFL has never liked learning things from the college game the first time or the twelfth time.

Good for him. Hard to say bc he was already a tweener but he's probably cost himself millions. Hopefully it makes the path easier for others sooner than later.

it really sounds like this was about to come out anyway, so it's hard to argue he cost himself money. might as well do it your way if the decision is going to be (unfortunately) forced upon you.

also, if peter king's source is right and this guy goes undrafted, i'm going to have a hard time talking myself into sticking with the nfl. i don't know what it says about me that i can abide watching young men destroy their brains but not this. either way, i'd find it awfully crushing if they just blacklisted this guy.
