Watching Rose again is going to be awesome but considering the last two seasons that we've played, the Bulls have finished as the number 1 seed, it's hard for me to be too excited for the regular season but the NBA is too awesome for me not to be happy that it's back.

Yeah, gotta just enjoy the regular season as entertainment. Or an 82 game pre-season. It'd be nice if they could keep the starting 5 healthy for most of the season so they can actually play together.

If healthy this is the best Heat team yet. If there are no major trades or injuries, I have the Bulls losing to the Pacers in the second round of the playoffs. The Pacers have two legit scorers who can create and the Bulls don't.

Are we assuming that the Pacers are healthy? Because that's kind of a big assumption. Granger is already hurt.

It's also a big assumption that Noah, Deng, and Hinrich stay healthy. But healthy team against team, Bulls third best in East to me. Indiana can play some defense too.

Deng is fine. Hinrich...meh. I mean, better if he stays healthy of course, but the starters are far more important. Noah is a legit concern.

Yeah Hinrich isn't a huge deal with Rose, presumably, back. He shouldn't average more than 18 min +/- a night if everything goes mostly to plan. Rose should log somewhere around 33 min a game at PG and Butler/Dunleavy will combine for over 40 min a game at SG. Obviously, like you said, great if he stays healthy as he provides some good value but it's not a huge deal if he can't stay healthy. Assuming Rose/Butler/Dunleavy are mostly healthy.

It's really close, I think the Bulls are a better regular season team and will finish with a better record this year but I think the Pacers are and will be a better playoff team.

I like starters of Hill/Stephenson/George/West/Hibbert with Granger or Copeland/Scola/Watson off the bench more than Rose/Butler/Deng/Boozer/Noah with Hinrich/Dunleavy/Gibson off the bench in a playoff series where only about 8 guys are going to log major minutes. Again, it's really close and a playoff series would probably go 6 or 7 games.

The only way they are a better playoff team is if they are significantly healthier than the Bulls. Rose is looking like a top 5 in the NBA player right now. This team is going to be disgustingly good.

I get that argument, but Paul George looked like a top 5ish player in the playoffs last year and Hibbert took a big step forward post ASB and during the playoffs last year and is probably a top 3 center in the league. I think they are a little bit better.

The Pacers had some issues with the Bulls last year when they didn't have Rose and while they have multiple scoring options they can be slowed down, stopped even by a good defensive team, like the Bulls. Rose is nearly impossible to stop at times. I just don't see how the Pacers are better than the Bulls if the Bulls are healthy.

A Pacers/Bulls matchup in the playoffs would be really tough to forecast. They could legitimately be seen as clones at least in results and personnel if not in philosophy. And we don't have many games played between them to have any kind of idea how they match up. The best examples are probably the two games in Chicago from two years ago which they split. Even those games are really ancient history though especially on the Pacers side (although the Bulls have some new parts too like Butler).

The Bulls are almost certainly going to be better than the Pacers in the regular season unless Vogel changes his philosophy. For example, he played Hibbert 28.7 minutes per game last year in the regular season and then 36.5 minutes per game in the playoffs. Hibbert is the most important player for the Pacers to have on the floor as he's the linchpin to the defense, and that was a massive difference for them. Also I'm guessing they are going to nurse Granger along all season.

I'd probably give the edge to the Bulls because of a likely homecourt advantage, but that's how close it is. I think the Pacers match up better with the Heat than the Bulls do, but the Bulls match up better with the Nets. It should be a fun playoffs with four teams legitimately thinking that anything less than the conference finals is a disappointment.

The Pacers depth compared to the Bulls is what worries me in a potential playoff matchup. Pacers have a lot of different parts they can use depending on the situation. The other thing that worries me obviously is the Bulls health. I just have a hard time believing that the key players on the Bulls are going to be healthy come playoff time. Noah is banged up every year heading into the playoffs, Rose was banged up quite a bit even before the ACL tear, Deng has his injury issues too, and Hinrich has a new injury every 2 games or so. Because of the lack of depth, any injury to Rose, Noah or Deng is going to hurt badly.

I think it would be a slight advantage to the Bulls if both teams went into a series completely healthy, but that could change in either direction depending on a number of variables during the season (i.e. how well Granger fits into the mix if/when healthy, how Vogel is able to use his depth, how much George improves, Rose's comeback, how well Boozer and Taj bounce back from subpar seasons, etc etc)

Paul George is nowhere near the player Rose is. Out of these players, who is George better than? Lebron, Durant, Rose, Anthony, Paul, Wade, Kobe, Duncan, Parker, Westbrook...that's for starters.

I like what Indiana has going and I like Paul George, but the Pacers are not the team the Bulls are and Rose>>>>George.

The TNT crew off to a great start. Shaq thought he was part of a championship one year on a kickout three year until Ernie corrected him. Kenny said if the Spurs had won last year the Heat wouldn't be favorites this year. Also said Rose is as good as he is due to effort, not due to skill level. And Charles said that Oden is the most important player on the Heat roster.
