The whole point of why he was supposed to come back last year and why people were mad about his decision to ignore his doctor's advice is because knee pain like this is a normal function of completing the rehab of his repaired knee. His knee needs to remodel itself through strenuous use of his new mechanics. If he had come back when he was supposed to, this wouldn't be happening.

That said, this isn't a big picture issue.

Edit - Exactly what banedon said.

Optimistic me takes this view and makes me frustrated that he didn't work out these inevitable bumps in the road this out last season.

Pessimistic me sees this announcement as the first in a series of announcements leading towards Rose being diagnosed with a degenerative knee condition.

For some reason I don't remember Dunleavy looking this unathletic.

Living in Wisconsin and seeing him on the Bucks the last 2-3 years (or however long it was), I can vouch for him being one of the most un-athletic NBA players in the league currently. I honestly think he can't dunk.

Following online sounds like the knee is OK.

He was pretty damn fun to watch last night. Had it on in the background, and rewound every time Stacy King lost his mind. I'm gonna hold my breath every time Rose takes a tumble though.

Dunleavy had a nice play or two though. He was cutting under the basket on a fast break without the ball, caught a high pass from Deng, and fed nicely to Boozer for an easy layup.

Probably would've been faster to just watch it live.

No comments on DRose's 32 point 9 assist night?

(I didn't watch either)

I watched parts. He looked like a completely healthy Rose, but with range on his jump shot.

Got me drinking the Kool-Aid. Thought this team was clearly behind Miami, Indiana, and Brooklyn.....but now i feel they can compete. Derrick is really good.

Rose looked great last night. I can't wait tomwatch the Eastern Conference this year. When was the last time they had four legit title contenders out of the East?

They potentially could be very, very good.

They won't be. They will win 50 games at most and will lose in the first or second round.

If pierce and KG stay healthy they should be pretty good.

They won't finish within 10 games of the Bulls. Of course this team is going to win 65 games so it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Assuming relative health and most of the players performing to expectations/averages on both teams I think the Bulls and Nets definitely finish within 10 games of each other and it's probably closer to 5.

I look at the Nets and don't see a team but a random collection of talent with a complete unknown at coach. They don't scare me, even if healthy.

I mean the Bulls beat them and I'll take the addition of DRose over their additions. Actually no one in the NBA had a bigger offseason then the Bulls so bring it on NBA, all of you.

Are people just assuming Pierce or Garnett get hurt? This is comical

I don't, I think they're going to be pretty solid. Not sure if they'll beat Miami or Chicago, but they're going to win a bunch of games.
