95% of the internet is things the world never needed

Dude, you like going to that angry, brotastic, neo-con gossip site; we get it.

I skim it like once a week. It's just a thing

it's disgusting, misogynistic garbage

Wow I'm surprised people like Bernstein more surprised people think he's smarter than other sports radio hosts. He is horrible and kinda a baby. Then he blows his guests. He usually tries to blow his guests so comprehensively that I can't bear listening to it. Surprised anybody likes him in 2015. His social justice stuff is all a new creation which makes the sanctimony tough to listen to as well.

He works out at my gym as well. And he is impossibly small. Like he's smaller than any adult has a right to be.

I enjoy him. I understand perfectly well that he's largely an act. A guy that's bought into his own "character", and believes in his own self importance. But he also is very good at what he does. As a sports talk show host, he's entertaining, makes strong, opinion based arguments (though he argues those opinions are factual often times), and generally has pretty solid reasoning even as he delivers them in his "way". I'm perfectly understanding of those that dislike the show. But I'm also perfectly understanding of those that do. And clearly there's plenty that do, as B&B broke into the top 10 shows in town this year.

Top 10 sports talk radio show or radio show in general ?

Top 10 radio in Chicago. B/B #18, Mully/Hanley #11 somehow: http://www.talkers.com/2014-talkers-sports-heavy-hundred-1-25/.

I think Boers and Bernstein is as good as traditional sports radio gets. Obviously that's a reflection of the medium, but they're very good. Take a listen to stuff from the east coast or outlying markets like where I live in phoenix. Sports radio is either the terrible smarmy sycophant + bad ex jock combo (local shows, especially in minor markets), too uncritical (stuff like Mike and Mike or Dan Patrick) or takes sports too seriously (Northeast corridor lunatics like Francesa.

I pretty much never listen to Sports Radio, but it has to be Gottlieb.

If only it was crushed by a meteor.

It is pretty bad anymore, no argument here

hate hate hate hate hate

I don't even understand where people got this from.

This is a thing? I thought it was just Derwood mashing his thumbs against the keyboard.

Gottlieb is terrible radio because he has to talk about things aside from CBB and is basically Cowherd lite on every other topic.

I guess I've never listened to him outside of tourney season

I can't say I do it regularly, but I've heard him a couple times and seen some other stuff filter through twitter, and it's rough.

Random question but why does ESPN care so much about the Cricket World Cup? I go on ESPN.com this morning and this is the main front page story, over Kentucky-Notre Dame? Seems odd for an American sports website, considering virtually no Americans know anything about or care about cricket.

Nah, that's the LeBatard Show.

It doesn't get better than his show

The only times I get annoyed is when Dan gets a little too preachy for too long or does some of his ridiculous questions to try to start a discussion. But I really like him overall (and the tv show). Interviews are really good, the "looks like" game has been gold for like a year now, Ron Magill, the stuff making fun of other shows, etc...

I don't care about the Heat or any Miami sports teams but I still listen to the local hour on podcasts. The Angry Mob never gets old somehow.

They own the US broadcast rights. It's the same reason you see minimal NHL highlights on Sportscenter.

I happen to greatly enjoy the B&B show, however I can do without some of the off topic stuff Bernstein tends to talk about. I think it's important for sports radio to be critical and opinionated otherwise it's basically the Mully and Hanley show. Boring.

espn is actually really heavily involved in cricket. their cricket website is the most popular one in the world, and they regularly do commentary and analysis from matches in cricket-playing countries. it's a pretty good thing to be involved in, considering how popular it is in pretty big and/or wealthy countries (england, australia, india, pakistan, south africa).

that being said, i have no idea why they'd air stuff about the world cup in the US, since the only people in america who give a [expletive] about cricket are ex-pats from cricket-crazy countries.

I personally know several people who flew down there for the week this past week.

But yeah, all ex-pats.
