He's got a pretty clear history of arguing these kinds of social issues in sports though, and doing a very good job at it. But I think a bit of wine and twitter got him in some deep water last night.

What did Dan say about McDonald that women cheered him on? Didn't he basically say Pace is not trying to bring in boy scouts even as he looked over the arrest records and said Mcdonald raped a woman? That its ok to bring rapists over if you are close to winning? I know Terry said the latter, but Dan didn't seem to disagree.

I don't think making sophomoric jokes directed at a woman means he is cool with scumbags sexually assaulting women. He was probably drinking and made a dumb series of jokes on Twitter.

 

Not that I couldn't totally see him saying the same thing on air. I can see the argument that he should be more consistent (if he's going to address those subjects the way he addresses them he probably shouldn't make the jokes he makes from time to time).

No, he specifically said he's fine with his original tweet. That they often criticize broadcasters and other media, and that he felt like that assessment was valid.
