FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Rangers would consider dealing right-hander Matt Garza.

It's a pretty surprising report, as the Rangers just acquired Garza from the Cubs last week for a package of prospects. However, Rosenthal hears that they are willing to be open-minded regarding virtually all of their players. The Rangers are still in the mix and Garza should help the rotation, so it's unlikely a deal comes together.

The Garza things sounds like one of those "bored reporter" stories.

Ranger source: We're listening on anybody, open to anything that helps our team win.

Reporter: Really? Anyone? Even Garza?

Ranger source: Sure, in theory.

Reporter runs off to write "Garza may be back on trading block!" story.

Lots of twitter speculation that the Cardinals could be interested in Navarro.

Source: #STLCards in discussions to acquire Navarro from #Cubs.

Looks like they are interested.

Sounds like the DBacks got a nice return on Kennedy.

It's an interesting return. He's having an "off" year, but really, isn't that far off from his last few years. I like Stites a fair amount, but they basically used their surplus to address their pen for a run this year (with Thatcher, and an outside chance of Stites). I've never been a huge Kennedy guy, but a year ago, you wouldn't make that deal. Their depth allows them to do this, but it won't be hard to imagine Kennedy having a strong year next year for the Padres and making this trade look awkward, as I don't think anyone would really think of Thatcher as the missing piece to a title for the Diamondbacks.

I've always liked Bud Norris a bit more than most (when he was coming up), but man, it's strange to see him as a main attraction at the trade deadline. I'm going to be very curious what it costs whichever team (sounds like the Orioles), as I'm not sure it makes sense to give up a quality prospect to land him.

Edit: Not bad for the O's. A Competitive Balance pick, Hoes, and another piece. Provided the third piece isn't a top guy, this would be a nice gamble on their part. This pushes Hammels out, and they potentially don't give up a top guy. Hoes is nice, but feels more like a super-util type.

Is this even legal? RT @Ken_Rosenthal Sources: #Orioles agree to acquire Norris from #Astros for Hoes and another piece. Finalizing now.

Why? Norris? As much as some of their starters are overachieving, you aren't going to replace, say Locke, with Norris. Is he an upgrade over their other guys?

@Ken_Rosenthal

Told #STLCards' pursuit of #Cubs' Navarro has slowed. Teams unable to agree on price. Deal appears doubtful.

@JonHeymanCBS

i didn't mean norris, i meant the fact that they didn't do anything at all. they had areas where they could have improved, and a good farm system. i'm not saying they should have traded any of their top guys, but it feels like they should have done at least something.

The #Pirates aren't meeting the #Cubs demands for their outfielders and doubt trade will be made in waning minutes

Probability of a trade has risen to 90%.

None of the other major offensive pieces are being moved either, and I have no doubt the Cubs are asking for the moon for Schierholtz (as they should be). It's a big-time sellers' market.

The #Cubs are done for the month with no last minute trades

So Rizzo, Castro and Samardzija must be the only Cubs left.

No one's gonna jump on this?

Also, why would the Cardinals have an interest in Navarro?

Molina on the DL. But no deal. According to multiple reports, STL wouldn't meet the Cubs' asking price.
