We need to play much better than this to beat michigan obviously. Indiana lovvvves giving away possessions. Really glad to never see sheehey again

If we happened to beat Michigan, would that get us in? Or do we need one more after that?

We'd need no bid thieves and even still would be left to the whims of what the committee values this year. (R/N record good, bad losses bad)

Should be a lock with 3.

Time to root for all tournament locks and Illini opponents for the next 12 hours

Ugh those Ga Tech, NW, and Purdue games are going to haunt us.

Illinois would get Neb/OSU winner if they beat Michigan. I think they could easily win that game. I am not sure if Illinois is on the bubble yet, but if they beat Michigan you would have to think they would be knocking on the door.

you have to give Groce credit. 2 yrs in a row Illinois is playing their best ball when it counts the most

Yeah I think Illinois would need to get to the BTT title game to get legit consideration. After today their RPI is 64 and their SOS will be in the low 30s. 3 150+ losses is around the low end of the bubble teams, but other than @ Indiana, all of Illinois other losses are in the top 45 RPI.

Beating Michigan and Ohio State would give them 6 Top 50 wins (3 road, 2 neutral) and 3 Top 25 wins (1 road, 2 neutral). I'd think that would be enough but bukie might have a more informed opinion on this.

Nice that Abrams had one of his few games where he doesn't infuriate me. And of course the Purdue/NW losses are keeping us out. You knew they were going to be big trouble when they happened, especially the Purdue game. I don't think Illinois gets in unless they win the tournament.

Rpiforecast has illinois rpi at 45 with a run to the title game. (And since the loss is included in that rpi it would actually be better when the committee sets their field. - the BTT title game is scheduled too late to matter)

Ohio State is so bad. They barely beat Purdue. No way they make it out of the first weekend, right?

Villanova is so bad. They lost to Seton Hall. No way they make it out of the first weekend, right?

I dont know but I'm sure Nebraska is happy OSU won. Now they get a likely consequence free game tomorrow. They should probably still try to win it though just in case.

Are we basing it on today only or the whole season where the worst of Villanova's 3 losses before today was to Creighton and two of OSU's 8 losses were to Penn State?

Two of Syracuse's losses were home to BC and GT. Overall, Ohio State is probably a 6 seed, and they wouldn't even be expected to make it out of the first weekend.

Do they speak English in Canada? Wiggins sounds like a freaking moron.

He has an accent. I don't think he sounds more like a moron than any other kid they stick behind a mic.

Illinois rule being used a ton today.

What is this?

How soon you forget about Illinois last tourney game.

EDIT: I am referring to reviewing possession on an out-of-bounds play.

Minnesota trying their best to throw away their lead: turnover, missed front end, missed front end, turnover, missed three, before finally a "productive" possession where they split a pair of FT(missing the first, of course).

And they shouldn't have gotten the 2nd attempt at the FT. I have no idea why that lane violation was called.
