Remember when we'd done a ton of research on keeping pitchers healthy and that was going to be a new Moneyball-style edge?

I'll file that one away with "controlling the strike zone" and "parallel fronts."

It's not all bad; maybe that gigantic file cabinet will fall on you.

If the file cabinet is for all of Kyle's baseless dismissals, it's already the size of a room.

The Cubs are really bad because of things Theo Epstein does, and few of the cool things he promised are actually happening.

These things practically file themselves.

I find your sig appropriate to my half of the conversation.

Due to the lovely weather, Garza no longer will be pitching at Kane County tomorrow. He'll do a simulated game over the weekend with the big league squad and then go rehab at Tennessee next week.

@GDubCub: Garza scratched from we'd rehab start because of "dead arm" since Sunday pen.

Wonder if he'll pitch at all for us this year?

Don't most guys just pitch through it? Or since Garza is still building up stamina, its best he just throws a pen later this week(as they're saying)?

There's probably a difference between how you treat dead arm from a typical pitcher in a normal routine and how you deal with it for a pitcher coming off an elbow injury and then suffering a setback in his rehab.

“It’s all muscular, nothing structural,” Hoyer said. “We’ll give him a couple days, throw a bullpen and get him right back on schedule.”

MIAMI — Matt Garza told the Cubs he's feeling much better after feeling discomfort in his arm following a bullpen session and subsequently being shut down again Tuesday.

Manager Dale Sveum said Garza is scheduled to play long toss Friday or Saturday and then throw a bullpen session. He could start for Double-A Tennessee sometime next week.

"I would imagine," Sveum said. "They kind of figured out it was just usual side (session) soreness."

Garza was scheduled to make his first minor league rehab start Wednesday for Class A Kane County one week ago, but that was changed to a simulated game in Milwaukee on Friday because of the weather conditions in the Chicago area.

Our favorite .100 hitting AAA 3B is bitching on Twitter about how the Rockies screwed him and now Chris Nelson over, saying he loved his time in Colorado, no disrespect to the Cubs. Honestly, I'll be surprised if Stewart gets 50 at bats in the majors this year.
