There should be an out clause for salary cap hits if a player murdered one or possibly three people

I was talking to one of my buddies about this last night, he said apparently one of those failure to perform/meet team standard clauses would cover this in Hernandez's contract and it's pretty common but apparently he didn't have one. Idk where he heard that but he usually is right about stuff like that.

There is no reason why the cap hit should be relieved. Previously unpaid guaranteed money should be avoidable, but that's different.

maybe a psychological eval, and not just a huge wank, would have saved them.

Lions and QB Matthew Stafford are on verge of blockbuster extension that could be done as early as today, per team source.

And once Matthew Stafford deal is done, then Matt Ryan would be next.

In the first practice after he signs that extension he'll attempt a throw and his arm will probably detach from his shoulder and go rolling down the field squirting blood. Dude seems injury prone. Just a touch.

Really? He hasn't missed a game since 2010, when he had his separated shoulder finally surgically fixed. That he probably sustained in week 1, came back a few weeks later, and was drilled in the same shoulder in the second game. Yes, he's had minor injuries since- ankle, finger, hip. But not missed any time from them, in fact, only been "Questionable" once. Labeling him injury prone isn't really accurate, imo.

I agree average to just slightly above average is more appropriate

Fair enough. I don't really follow him enough to know. Just seemed like for a while there he was also off and on questionable. I guess that's what I'm remembering.

"Brett Favre? Receivers around him. Aaron Rodgers? Receivers around him. Christian Ponder? Receivers around him."

Unlike previous interviews, Jennings did mention Rodgers' name. But he also somewhat cryptically said that "you get respect when you give respect" when asked why he apparently thinks more of Favre than Rodgers.

PFT has the Bengals ranked #6, ahead of the Packers and Patriots.

Woah. Are they aware Dalton is their QB?

Bengals are a trendy pick this year. Dalton/Green in their 3rd year (year everyone thinks players take off, but it's not necessarily true). Really good defensive line. Pretty decent secondary. LBs are solid. A lot of people feel that Eifert will be a great #2 receiving threat to Green. They've been on the cusp of playoff wins each of the last 2 seasons. It makes sense. Patriots may be without their top 4 targets from last year. GB lost Jennings and Driver. I wouldn't have them that high, but I can see a worthwhile argument being made.

Yeah, if all the picks just fall into everyone's expectations, then there's no point reading it anyway. Somewhere along the line someone needs to step out a bit.
