Damn, that's disappointing.

If they deem Joeckler or Fisher worthy of 1.1, I have to think they'll keep trying to trade Albert.

While a RT, has Smith ever played LT before? If not, do you go after him on the right side and just figure Webb in as the LT again? Baker or Loadholdt legit upgrades over Carimi as well, if we go that route. Move Carimi inside and thats likely an upgrade too.

Not in the NFL but he played LT at Alabama.

Unless you can get Long or Bushrod cheap, I think I'd prefer Smith trying his hand at LT.

Cap question: I know there are certain days in the year where you HAVE to be under. But, if we've not made moves between now and the 12th, can you go sign a player that puts you over? I'm thinking the answer is no, but wanted to check?

Reading around the Internet, sounds like there is very little confidence in Andre Smith being able to handle LT (and he has motivation/staying in shape issues to boot). Might be better off with Vollmer at LT or Long.

I'd pass on Bushrod.

Hope this wasn't posted already. Pro Football Focus looked at the 10 most undervalued and overvalued players on the Bears last year.

1. Idonije (+5.9m)

2. Jennings (+5.6m)

3. Melton (+5.5m)

4. Briggs (+4.3m)

5. Wright (+3.0m)

6. Tillman (+2.4m)

7. Paea (+1.5m)

8. Nate Collins (+1.4m)

9. Conte (+1.3m)

10. Webb (+1.2m)

Overvalued

1. Urlacher (-8.4m)

2. Peppers (-7.5m)

3. Forte (-4.7m)

So the highest paid players were the most overvalued. That's the NFL.

Yes and no. Cutler and Marshall were the 2nd and 3rd highest paid players on the team and they didnt make either list. Tillman was 5th and Briggs 9th and they were both undervalued. But yeah Peppers should be no surprise as we had to overpay him to get him in FA, although he did underperform last year according to the numbers. Urlacher's performance was only worth $1.2 mil last year (for reference Jason Campbell's performance was worth $1.1 mil), although he missed a good amount of time and was hobbled for the rest of it.

@vxmcclure23: Bears officially inform D.J Moore he is no longer in the team's plans. Might be the start of other roster changes.

Moore was a mediocre coverage corner and a horrible tackler. He was a true scheme guy with a really bad haircut. They finally woke up and realized this late last season, but it shows how blind the old regime could be.

So who do the Chiefs take with #1? Move Albert to RT or inside?

don't care.

but anyways, now we have to overpay for a huge question mark in jake long, who will have several bidders now.

Albert would have had several bidders as well

yea, but he wouldn't have been a huge question mark...which was kind of the main point.
