Carolina presently being mocked to take Lotulelei. Hmm....not sure what to make of that. I really doubt the new GM would step out on that limb for his first draft pick.

The whole Te'o situation is stupid. The hoax thing is either him being stupid or him being forced to lie forhis Heisman campaign. Its over. It was dumb.

The 40 isn't a big deal either. Anyone who thought he was more than a 4.75 speed at best was kidding themselves. He looked the same he does on the field running the 40 and in drills. His stock should have never been in the top 10. And he still made enough plays on the field that he will go top 40....probably even still late 1st.

But the point is he was hyped as top ten in places based on the intangibles, which were completely erased with the hoax story. It was stupid to hype him like that before, but it is not stupid to have this hoax exposed. The 40 reiterated that while he was a nice college linebacker, he's not a physical stud deserving of some of the praise he received before. He can be a solid player.

He should consider himself lucky if, after all this, he still goes in the late 1st.

I agree, he can still be a good player in the NFL. Lack of top-end 40 speed for an inside linebacker doesn't disqualify him. I just wouldn't want to overspend for an ILB in the first round who doesn't have some kind of elite physical attribute.

True. Intangibles don't mean [expletive] for a LB though. So I still can't imagine why he was ever that high.

No one has any idea what's up with Star right now given the medical scare.

Same condition as Frank Alexander from Oklahoma last year (went to Carolina actually). He still went 4th round and he had a 4th round grade. Star won't drop out of the top 8.

Because he's like Fonzi if Fonzi were a horse

Really? Alexander was real solid in 2012 and I don't recall any talk about that condition (this is the first I've heard of it so it clearly didn't bother him much). If it's the same condition I wouldn't worry about it.

Is there interest in another NSBB mock draft this year?

I was actually about to post something about that and see when people wanted to start. We've begun too early in the past, so I was thinking we might wait a little while extra to get started but wasn't sure when a good time would be.

Thoughts everybody?

I'm 100% down again. I think a good time to start would be after pro days (though, I'd just as soon do 1 now and 1 then to see what changes). But I'm thinking beginning of April would be when most things are settled. Should be no more prospect moving up boards, and only players moving down who get arrested or comes out they failed a drug test or something.

Yeah, I'm in for sure and can cover two teams (helping the Bears + covering another team).

Should we adjust the amount of time each team has to pick? People were complaining last year over too much time between picks, what are some thoughts on how we should handle that?

don't let people who only check the board once a week participate

Problem is, I don't know how often people check the board. Some of the guys who never post are the quickest to pick, so I wouldn't know who to keep out.

Maybe do something like fantasy drafts do and if you miss a pick then for your next one we take suggestions from the populace at large and make a pick after 6 hours or so?

You start it soon and then give people 24-48 hours to make a selection. It's not a problem.

Any chance of letting PriortoTheo back? He did a damn good job on the draft and did it quick.
