I listened to part of his rant on the radio. It was the weirdest thing. He was yelling for no reason and kept repeating that he was going to stay up the Cubs' butts to make sure they did everything they promised. Said it over and over.

This is like something Tobias would say except Tunney actually is openly gay.

That has to play to his constituents. Saying you will battle THE MAN is the easiest way to stay popular.

there is not one water fountain in all of wrigley, as i learned during the 2 hr 45 min rain delay at the pearl jam concert while packed under the concourse in 95 degree heat with 40,000 drunks. will there be a drinking fountain after these renovations? that's all i need to know.

Really? I would think they'd be required to have them per code, even if it's a decrepit POS. You would certainly think they will have them post-renovation.

You couldn't just use an empty beer/soda cup you had used earlier and filled it up from water in one of the bathroom sinks though, if you absolutely needed water and couldn't/didn't want to buy bottled?

Drinking fountains are required by code?

Yes, usually since without water people frequently experience severe medical issues.

For $4 a bottle? It's a necessity of life.

Or probably just requesting it from the tap at a concession stand like you would at a fast food joint?

Anyway:

Drinking Fountains: Drinking fountains are located throughout the ballpark. Please refer to the Amenities Map in this guide for locations.

Yes, stadiums are required to have a min ratio of 1 per 1,000 of their total capacity. So Wrigley should have somewhere around 40-45 at min around the park.

If you didn't see a drinking fountain, its because you weren't looking for a drinking fountain.

Yeah I was gonna say I know I've used water fountains at wrigley before to fill up water bottles. Look near the bathrooms.

And this is what they look like

An actual drinking fountain at Wrigley Field.

Wonder if that's just the dugout one

No, those are the ones around the stadium. The ones in the dugout are the big ol' hoopty-looking ones from public schools painted green, and they've been beaten to [expletive] by bats and helmets and the like.

If the rooftop owners proceed with litigation and the Cubs don't want to break ground until that is completed, do we have any idea how long the litigation will take?

There have been talks between the rooftop owners and the Cubs about maybe building out a patio in RF to further minimize the impact the new sign would have...and apparently the Cubs suggested a pedestrian bridge from there to the train (which I think would be a pretty good idea if it could be implemented properly).

This rendering came from the rooftops...

WRIGLEYVILLE — A pedestrian bridge could be making its way back into the Cubs' Wrigley Field renovation plan, but this time it would be over Sheffield Avenue — and might reach the "L".

Sources say if the team can't get a controversial bridge over Clark Street approved, they're pitching a separate plan that would connect the Addison Red Line station to Wrigley Field beyond right field.

That plan, shown to some neighborhood residents last week, would include a patio behind the right field seats. To do that, the Cubs would need to extend the stadium's exterior wall an additional 8 feet onto Sheffield Avenue, taking out a parking lane, sources said.

The sidewalk on the west side of Sheffield Avenue would pass under the overhead patio, sources said.

The city would need to grant the Cubs access to the public way for the plan to work. The team does not want to pay for access to the public way and pointed to the return on investment, from millions in tax dollars to 2,100 jobs, the project brings to the neighborhood.

It's not controversial, it's one [expletive] douche of an alderman being a whiny child

Fair enough. I filled my water bottle up multiple times while there. Like someone else said, they're usually right by the bathrooms.
