I thought everything was agreed upon, or at least the major stuff and Tunney is just bitching to bitch. Is that not the case?

It already is a lost season of construction. Has been for a while.

Nope. In the article, it says they will not spend any money until they are guaranteed of no lawsuit by the rooftops. This right field party deck/bridge over Sheffield in order to move the sign back is the sticking point.

Why? Do you have proof of that?

They could at least get up the RF sign, the jumbotron, and start the work on the hotel or office building if it's signed off on.

Everything that has been said for the past month or two indicates that it would take a minor miracle for it to start this year.

TE: Well, with some of the delays that we’ve experienced with everything, it’s complicated around here. We probably won’t be able to start in earnest this winter. You have to order steel and other resources ahead of time and we just don’t have our final, final approvals yet. I think the work will begin in earnest following the 2014 season.

That's Theo over two weeks ago. It doesn't appear that things have gotten any better since, either.

They can't even do the clubhouse?

The clubhouse means tearing up that entire section of the grandstand, which is just as significant, if not more so, as most of the other phases of the project.

also we don't have any money and have to do all the revenue generating things first

The process is more fun this way

Absolutely. This way our silver spoon fed billionaire kid owners don't have to ask daddy for more allowance money.

Can't they just bribe him or something?

:yahoo:

Can you make us a 5 team trade involving the rooftop owners, Seattle Slew, the where's the beef lady, a pack of 1988 Score Baseball cards, and a bottle of Yoohoo? It'd make more sense than your response to this,

I guess you're having a rough day. I'll explain Plaid suggested we bribe Tunney and Treymon commented that we don't have the money until we do revenue generating things first. I thought it was pretty funny.

Your post suggests you thought it was pretty awesome that the Cubs don't have money.
