(Debt Rules Everything Around Me)

Hahahaha.

Not sure if this is rehashed news as it's similar to stuff we've heard:

@PrazMaster: A source close to Tom Tunney just informed me that 11 of 12 Wrigley rooftop owners have agreed to settle with #Cubs. Still waiting on one.

You're a skank, Beth Murphy.

Is it her? I thought I remember reading it somewhere that it's some absentee dude?

The primary issue is who the hell is this guy?

Probably the guy with the "most blocked" view.

I meant the guy with the tweet

His twitter calls him the PA announcer for NIU hockey, so obviously a super legit source. But in all seriousness he seems to have some sort of friendship/relationship with Tom Loxas.

I'm just gasping for straws here with news on this.

Loxas, who isn't very good to begin with, and responded to him to tell him he was wrong.

Well then, nevermind. Last time I trust D2 hockey PA guys for news.

http://www.bleachernation.com/2014/04/23/the-cubs-will-have-to-jump-through-more-hoops-to-provide-free-parking/

The alderman of the ward in which the remote lot sits has been pushing for the Law Department to conclude that the Cubs’ operation of a lot of a private business violated zoning restrictions (because parking was supposed to be just for people using that particular business), and, this weekend, the Law Department agreed, according to Serena Dai at DNAinfo.

What does that mean for the Cubs? Well, you can read Dai’s piece for some of the particulars, including a response from the Cubs, but the upshot is: they’re going to have to scramble to come into compliance with the zoning rules. They will have to apply for a special permit – and application that the alderman intends to oppose. In the interim, they can continue using the lot.

Like Brett said, this is a relatively minor issue, but just another example of the Cubs having to jump through hurdles to do anything in this city. I really wish Ricketts and co at least put some sort of threat out there of moving out of the city, as maybe then we could have some leverage to get things done.

It would be so awesome for Ricketts to turn today's ceremonies into a "this could be the last major celebration if we don't get our way" press conference. Just say thanks for the memories, but we'll be in Rosemont for the next 100 years and drop the mic. I would immediately donate a ton of money toward the project.

http://homeofthebraves.com/renderings

Braves new stadium renderings are up. Looks like they are incorporating a lot of the exterior stuff that the Cubs wanted to do and the Cardinals did this last offseason. I bet at least 5 teams build boutique hotels and shopping areas outside their stadiums between the time the Cubs announced they were going to do so and when the Cubs actually do. Of course, that's assuming that the Cubs ever do get their hotel and open market area.

So they have chosen to build the new stadium in Mordor?
