Go Giants.

Was going to post this in the other thread but it was locked, but this is the ninth straight Super Bowl with either the Colts, Patriots or Steelers representing the AFC. The last time one of those three didn't make it was 2002, when the Raiders made it.

I know everyone knows how annoyingly dominant Boston has been in all sports the last 10 years, but its still mind-blowing to actually look at the numbers.

10 years

39 team seasons

30 playoff appearances (77% of seasons)

10 conference titles (26% of seasons)

7 championships (18% of seasons)

I mean holy hell. To compare, here is Chicago's decade:

10 years

49 seasons

18 playoffs (37% of seasons)

3 conference titles (6% of seasons)

2 championships (4% of seasons)

All championship game/series appearances:

2012: Patriots play in Super Bowl

2011: Bruins win Stanley Cup

2010: Celtics lose NBA Finals

2008: Celtics win NBA Finals

2007: Red Sox win World Series

2007: Patriots lose Super Bowl

2005: Patriots win Super Bowl

2004: Red Sox win World Series

2004: Patriots win Super Bowl

2002: Patriots win Super Bowl

Broken down by team:

Red Sox: 6 playoffs, 2 championships, 2 AL championships

Patriots: 9 playoffs, 3 championships, 5 conference championships

Celtics: 8 playoffs, 1 championship, 2 conference championships

Bruins: 7 playoffs, 1 championship, 1 conference championship

Even the freaking Revolution have been to the MLS Cup 4 times this decade. What the hell?

I'm not sure, but I don't believe the Pats have ever covered as favorites in the super bowl. 3 points is their smallest spread however.

It's hard to take the Giants seriously considering that they only won 1 more regular season game than the Bears. Yet they somehow still manage to win.

The Ravens fans here were complete jerks when Cutler got hurt, so seeing them choke is pretty gratifying. Of course the obnoxius Steelers fans will ruin it by never letting this one die, ever.

I think Brady can expose the Giants defense in a way that Smith couldn't. Pats win a shoot out.

They had the advantage of putting it together as the season wore on. The Bears fell apart.

I've had a pretty good read on these playoffs, predicting this exact Super Bowl matchup before the playoffs started.

I have to stick with my original prediction and have the Patriots taking down the Giants, better QB & better Head Coach (although, maybe not by as much as most think). The Giants may actually have the edge in offensive weapons, running game and defense. Not sure about special teams really.

I just think that 2 weeks of prep time for Bill B, Brady playing extremely well and some revenge from the last Super Bowl leads New England to a victory. The health of Gronk could go a long ways towards deciding this game too.

NE - 27

NYG - 24

I have to go with the Giants in the Super Bowl, as they're almost a carbon copy of the Packers from last year-- facing elimination late in the season, then going on a hot streak and running the table the rest of the way.

The 2 week prep time for BB is overblown, and Brady looked like crap yesterday. BB can't scheme a defense to make up for the fact that they aren't good. They've been fortunate to have played the 2 worst QBs in this year's playoffs so far.

I'm going Giants, 34 - 30.

Mostly because I don't want the Pats to win another one. And what I don't want to happen, shouldn't happen.

i'll definitely be wrong, but i have a feeling eli's going to shred new england's defense, and the giants will be able to neuter brady.

Pulling for the Jints. I like Eli. Very chill and seemingly humble guy.

Actually I view Brady much the same way and respect his accomplishments, especially since he's a Michigan Man.

Damn it, now I am confused.

Two thoughts:

1) If Brady wins, is he the greatest QB of all-time? If not, who is and where does Brady rank?

2) If Eli wins where does he rank? Is he the most underrated QB of all-time?

Eli Manning strikes me as a whiner who makes that "the reciever ran the wrong route" face every time something goes wrong.

Of all the reasons to dislike Brady, having played at Michigan is not very high on the list but it's still on the list.

If Brady wins, I'd still take Joe Montana.

It seems like the Giants defense gets more credit for the first super bowl win. Also his recievers that made incredible catches at critical times. Whether that's fair or not is open to debate. If the Giants win this one, he'll probably get most of the credit.
