Well, he's ranking them based on general entertainment/spectacle value. The Bears' win was glorious for Bears fans, but it was probably pretty damn boring for most everyone else.

SI.com's Richard Rothschild graded every Super Bowl. Apparently, to get an A, it needs to be a Patriots win.

Any Super Bowl decided by a GREAT defense was rewarded an F.

The grading system looks at three categories: 1) how competitive the game was; 2) quality of play; 3) historical significance.

The game was competitive for 5 minutes and the Patriots had under 200 yards of offense. I'd say it's rated accurately by these measures.

One might think that, but most everybody I've met in ny/nj area remember it fondly. Nobody thinks of it like the ravens win. It was first memorable sb for anybody under 40

In describing that game, the very last comparison I would turn to is Shakespeare. Yet, that's where he chooses to go with it. He apparently watched the Fridge, and watched Ditka, and came up with Shakespeare.

I don't think I need to know anything else in evaluating what I think of his article.

If I see Wilfork slobbering all over Eli Manning, I'll post a wonderful comparison to Mary Poppins. Won't that make me cool.

It's weird because the Bears were the overwhelming favorite and won convincingly, the exact opposite of what happened on St. Crispin's Day. That reference would hav been better for the Giants beating the Patriots.

I thought Superbowl XXX (Dallas beats Pittsburgh) was a pretty entertaining game that was close until late in the game. I remember watching it in a bar and the guys sitting next to me needed 1 more point for the over under and would have covered if not for Neil O'Donnell's 3rd int of the day.

Indy is getting rave reviews from the media

Indy absolutely excels at hosting events like this (I know that's impossible for Chicagoans to believe). Obviously, Indy isn't on par with cities like Miami-New Orleans-San Diego for hosting Super Bowls because of weather/excitement/scenery, but, for its limitations, it would be hard to beat Indianapolis.

(And I don't even really like Indy that much.)

60, 54, 54 the last 3 days. Average high for early Feb: 38.

Hey if global warming keeps this up, we can have the SB in the north every year!

Yeah, they've gotten ridiculously lucky with the weather so far. It looks like today's the last day of that, although if the rain holds off the next two days won't be bad.

Other than the weather, I'm not surprised at all that Indy is putting on a good show. Hosting big events is a big part of what the city is known for at this point. They don't have everything, but they use everything the city has to offer very well.

So who had the first scoring play being a safety?

Some Vegas degenerate is having a freaking party right now.

Yeah, I'm trying to find what the odds on that were.

Patriots get a fumble recovery but have it nullified by 12 men on the field. The Sith lord apparently didn't do a good job preparing his team. =D>
