He's my favorite Cub ever (been a fan since 98') so it sucks to see him on a division rival. Hopefully he'll retire before the contract is up so I can wear my jersey again.

I would rather not save a rival from the most potentially damaging year of the deal.

Total bummer, but I think Milwaukee is a good place for him. I think he'll do very well there. It's just going to suck having to play against him. Better than going to the Cardinals I guess.

Ramirez deserves a standing ovation when he returns to Wrigley for the first time, but I highly doubt that happens. Most cub fans save those for player like mark derosa.

Ramirez takes a lot of unfair heat from multiple sources, but Wrigley Field has always buzzed positively for the guy. I think he'll get an ovation.

Yeah, I'll be shocked if Wrigley views him as the bad guy here. He may get an ovation in every AB if we're winning.

I could see some of the meatballs feeling slighted by the fact that he dared turn down his half of the mutual option and test the free agent market which heavily favored him.

The guy who scared me the most is now a Brewer. Like the move, he is terrible on defense but he should hit enough to be alright. Also gives the Brewers another possible .850 OPS guy in the middle of the line up.

Can't wait to see my first ARAMABomb in Miller Park this year.

The Brewers just sent Casey McGehee to Pittsburgh for Jose Veras, now that they don't need a 3B.

We should probably check in on the availability of Pedro Alvarez.

Aramis was an absolutely abysmal defender his first few years in the league, worked on it a ton and improved to maybe average at 3B for several years before declining quite a bit the last 2 seasons (maybe since the shoulder injury in 2009). I didn't watch enough of the Cubs last year to tell you if he's below average or downright horrible these days.

You will enjoy watching him hit, especially in MP. However, if your like me, every time he runs he appears to pull a quad, I cringed when he tried to leg out a double, figured it was another 15DL trip.

Even though that's a pretty fair deal, I still wouldn't have given him that much if I was the Cubs. He's at an age where he's declining, obviously, and I have my suspicions it will not be a kind decline.

It makes sense for the Brewers, though, who probably figure they have a window of one more year and had to add some offense one way or another.

Ramirez will earn just $6MM in 2012, according to Rosenthal. He'll earn $10MM in 2013 and $16MM in 2014 with a $4MM buyout on a mutual option for 2015, Rosenthal reports. The 2014 salary includes $6MM in deferred money.

Seriously? I would have EASILY signed him on that contract. Come on, Theo.

You're right but you're ruining my emotion based thinking when you say stuff like that.
