Said player put up 3.8WAR over the past 3 years.

Fangraphs has Aramis as being worth 6.2 wins the last three years:

 

2009: 2.2 WAR (in only 82 games)

2010: .4 WAR

2011: 3.6 WAT

 

So fWAR likes him a bit better than bWAR. Either way, him reaching 7.2 over the next 3 years is not a good bet.
