Jye-eer I believe, if it's the same as the Braves pitcher Jurrjens.

I admit, when I first saw a tweet that said "Red Sox send Bogaerts to Cubs to complete Epstein compensation", my heart skipped a few beats.

That was probably the point of that tweet.

I just wish I could have been in the room when some of the SoSH folks received said tweets.

The Red Sox are sending us Jair Bogaerts to finish the compensation. 19 year old 1B from Aruba. Hit .288/.387/.404/.791 with a high K rate in the DSL last year.

Doesn't sound like much anything special, but I prefer something like that over a 26-28 year old organizational junk baller. He can join Rebel Ridling, Justin Bour, and Richard Jones in our line of 1st baseman I hope to never see so we can go from Rizzo to Vogelbach.

Weird seeing Jones in a grouping with Rebel and Justin. The former two (particularly Rebel) look to have a decent shot at making the bigs for a cup of tea, at least. I have no real hope for Richard Jones.

As for Bogaerts, whatever. With the depth of potential corner guys in the lower levels, I doubt he has a legitimate shot up the ladder, but at least the kid has some power potential. I didn't really have any high expectations on the final chip, and the best part is that this idiotic saga is over with.

Maybe we'll keep Jair around long enough that he can entice his brother to sign with us as a FA ... nah, probably not ... that's WAY down the line.

Tough [expletive] Boston. You wanted Carpenter, he got injured. Deal with it. It's not like the Cubs pushed Carpenter on him, from what I've read, it was more like the Cubs relented and said 'fine you can have him'

A baseball source indicated that the teams agree that that there was no intent or prior knowledge by the Cubs that misled the Red Sox about Carpenter’s condition.

A baseball source said yesterday that neither the Cubs nor the Red Sox knew Carpenter had bone chips at the start of spring training. Carpenter, said the source, passed the Cubs’ spring training entrance physical, pitched fine early in Cubs camp before the trade, his medical records passed the Red Sox’ medical review and he passed their entrance physical as well.

OK so you admit the Cubs were not trying to mislead the Red Sox and he passed your physical. Your own doctors said he was healthy. So what exactly do you want from us? If Theo was randomly arrested for drug trafficking and sentenced to a year in jail, the Cubs aren't going go back to the Red Sox and ask for something to make up for it.

Seriously, this is funny as hell. What exactly are they trying to do, if they concede the Cubs didn't know anything? Should we give them a player or two, just because we should feel bad for their luck with Carpenter? I always kind of liked the Red Sox before this mess, now I can't stand them.

Presumably largely on the strength of baseball operations, the Cubs are going to be top-half in the Fangraphs organizational rankings. I know it doesn't mean anything, but I enjoyed these articles last year and am looking forward to this year's.

They are up to No. 16 and still no Cubs.
