That's what I was thinking when I saw the trolls.

I for one assume the night my team wins a championship, I'd be trolling rival message boards.

Absolutely if the Cubs won the World Series then the first thing I'd do is register for a bunch of Cardinals message boards to troll them. Oh wait, no I wouldn't. I'm thinking that would rank about dead last on my list of things I would want to do at that point.

I would be far, far to drunk to use a computer at that point.

Not only that but if the Cubs were in a Game 7 of the World Series I wouldn't be anywhere near a computer. I'd want to stay focused on the game itself.

OK, I think I am over it now. We live in a world where the Cardinals are the flukiest World Series champions ever. There is nothing new here because we just lived through it 5 years ago. So what does this do for our rivalry? Does bragging about having 11 championships have any difference that having 10? Nope. Does having 11 titles make living in St. Louis any less shitty? Nope.

The bottom line is, the World Series is over, and like most years, no one cares who won the World Series if it wasn't their team. The nation doesn't care about the St. Louis Cardinals outside of the wasteland that is Southern Illinois and Eastern Missouri, so the time that the rest of baseball cares about this is even shorter. Sure they will have their ring ceremony next April, but when the games start, their title will be as meaningless as the 2006 title was that they fluked their way into. By far the most important thing to happen in October 2011 happened at Clark and Addison, and this is something that will most likely have much more of a long term effect on the St. Louis organization than their lucky title will.

So accept that baseball teams get lucky sometimes and look ahead to what will hopefully be an extremely exciting offseason for the Cubs.

I would be trying to read the game thread on my phone, but I would probably be in a very populated area where I cant get service from AT&T so my attempts will be futile. I would definitely take 2-3 hours in the days after to read ech and every single comment from that thread.

I just want to thank your board for the vast amount of entertainment as I have dealt with my hangover today. I look forward to my banning and being called a troll.

The richest part of this whole thread, by a redneck St. Louis South County toasted ravoli mile, is the delusional belief that you guys are somehow just a Theo away from running away with the Central for the next four decades.

I look forward to watching you clowns trying to fill the empty first base spot. And Albert isn't coming to your shithole stadium to play 80 plus day games a year with amenities that rival a north suburb high school. Second base is another hole you need to fill. It appears you are set for 10 years at SS, bully for you. ARam (speaking of roid heads) might bolt, and even if he stays, he's about 5 years past being worth a [expletive]. Love your LF'er. It must be nice to have the worst contract in the history of pro sports occupying that spot. The good news, only about 70 million left until 2014. I like Marlon Byrd but he's no superstar. Couldn't name the RFer if I googled it. Soto is fine, of course he is no Yadi, and he is fragile.

And how about that staff. 20 million still owed to the retired mental patient. Dempster and Garza are wonderful 4th and 5th starters. Too bad they are 1 and 2 on your putrid staff. And you all have said more than enough about Marmol.

But don't worry, the Cards are in trouble. Waino is back, Carp for two more years, Garcia is better than any other starter you have. Westbrook and Loshe are in their proper 4 and 5 spots unlike your bum 1 and 2's. Oh, and if you look at any random prospect list Shelby Miller and Martinez routinely are in the top ten in MLB. And the lineup that led the NL in runs this year should be back next year, including one of the greatest players ever.

You dooshnozzles enjoy your loser tradition. Make sure you tune in for the parade tomorrow, it's going to be great. 11 rings v. 1908. Good luck losers. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Daryl Kile died.

So did Josh Hancock, sadly he drove alone.

I thought Jack Buck was in the car?

Was that before or after they reanimated him for that seventh inning stretch at Wrigley Field when he stumbled around and pooped himself?

And wait, Aram is a Roid guy? FFS Mark McGwire is your hitting coach.

Come on you don't expect a Cardinals fan to remember what happened last week much less 15 years ago.

BTW the number of Cardinals fans that have come to respond to this thread shows how much they took the things said in this thread to heart. lol that anyone who just won a championship last night would let themselves get so butthurt from jealous rival fans.

I guess our comments about the average lifestyle of a cardinals fan hit closer to home than even we thought. Bravo for letting us feel superior to you as people and sports fans despite the huge gap in success between our two franchises.

You are quite perceptive. Wasn't sure if the cardinals fans would be able to catch that no matter how obvious I made it.

yeah yesterday i was quite annoyed, but now i'm actually just happy that the cubs have competent management that can start accumulating talent on a rather talentless roster. really this is what we've been waiting for through the years of jim hendry, ed lynch, etc... this is the best chance for sustained success that we've had since like 1905 or something.

Ok lets pretend like Theo is gonna help us win, we can't win. We were cursed by gypsies that live in Tony LaRussas left eyelid. Ricketts actually tried to get them out this year, you didn't really think that was Shingles did you? The Cubs should probably just quit, athletes don't even like our money we give them, they think it's loser money.

I don't see that they were exceptionally lucky as much as they were a well crafted team that overcame significant adversity. They lost their best pitcher in spring training. They lost their closer, who was an all star 2 years ago, in the first week....or he lost it. Holliday, Pujols, Freese and half of their bullpen were out significant periods with maladies.

They survived with friggin' Theriot as their SS more than half the season. Mozeliak did a helluva job bolstering that club for the late run. If you want to hate them, be my guest, but I tip my hat to them... :hello: Just maybe Theo can do something here to help us contend in a year or two.

I wonder if Theo will chase Sabathia if he breaks away from the Yankees or Wilson from Texas. The Cubs could use some serious pitching.

The funny thing is, he wasted 20 minutes 2 hours (factoring in St. Louis education) of his meaningless life writing that long ass drivel when all he said was essentially "the Cardinals are better than the Cubs".
