Some of you guys have lost some serious perspective in your hatred for the Cardinals.

Ya think?

Who wouldn't?

God, I am so utterly sick of Saint Louis winning that trophy, it is depressing.

sigh... again... I have seen them get there too many times, and I am only 49!

Call me impatient, but seriously, I want a Cubs World Series Title before I die!!!! Not too much to ask, I think?

I hope StL loses their fruity little domed football team that they don't even care about anyway

I hope STL burns in a fire.

I hope STL burns in a fire started by riots after Pujols signs with the Cubs!

i don't, if it burns down then they could start over and improve it. much better keeping it the way it is now.

My goodness it must be miserable to be a Cubs fan. 90 pages of complaining about the Cardinals still does not take the sting away of 100 years of futility. I will give you all this, the optimism is impressive. There is always next year little billy goats!

Can't you just enjoy your title? Or is life so empty that you must enjoy the misery of others?

Man, you're fast on the draw.

I'm actually admiring the updated google analytics that give me a real-time view of page views as they're happening. Extremely cool.

So I was refreshing the thread when I saw that post.

There's also currently 41 other st louis fans browsing the thread right now.

That makes sense. There's no reason for them to be out at a bar celebrating or anything...

I hope if we ever win it all, none of us end up on anyone else's board.

I'd wager the number of us face down in a ditch will be much higher.

oh for gods sake. this headline and stupid story was on the front page of MSNBC

http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/10/28/with-ninth-postseason-win-chris-carpenter-makes-a-hall-of-fame-case/related/

With ninth postseason win, Chris Carpenter makes a Hall of Fame case

144 regular-season wins wouldn’t typically get a starting pitcher within shouting distance of Cooperstown. With two stellar postseason performances for World Series-winning teams, though, 36-year-old Chris Carpenter is starting to build a case for eventual enshrinement in the Hall of Fame.

No. See: Jack Morris

His case would get a clear boost if Curt Schilling receives strong support when he turns eligible on the 2013 ballot. Schilling’s case gets much of its momentum from his going 11-2 with a 2.23 ERA in 19 postseason starts and pitching for three World Series-winning teams.

Schilling also has a clear edge on Carpenter in the regular season. He finished his career 216-146 with a 3.46 ERA, good for a 128 ERA+ (ERA adjusted for league and ballpark, with 100 being average). Carpenter is currently 144-92 with a 3.76 ERA, which gives him a 116 ERA+.

A) Schilling won't get in and he was a much more dominant pitcher, so Carpenter has no chance. B) Way to gloss over the fact that 70 wins separates them by saying "clear edge". I'd say given the fact that Carpenter is 36 with a history of arm injury that 70 wins is a "HUGE edge".

Someone in the comments section gets it:

K/BB and WAR

Schilling-4.4 and 86.1

Carp-2.7 and 42.4

Carpenter has to be one of the biggest d-bags in the game of baseball.

Perhaps you've never heard of Zambrano. :hello:

he didn't say he was the only d-bag, he said "ONE of the biggest"

A little humor to lighten the weight of the utter disgrace and travesty we all witnessed this evening...

@JeffPassan Jeff Passan

The oddest scene by far tonight: Pat Burrell traipsing around the field and clubhouse. Said one Cardinal: "What the hell is he doing here?"

As d'bags go, they are not in the same league. Carpenter makes his opponents and their fans livid. His teammates and organization love him.

so they're different types of d-bags. carpenter is a whiny bitch who embarrasses himself with his comments multiple times a year. zambrano is a spaz who alienates opponents and sometimes his teammates.

To all of the classless idiots in this thread, good luck for the next 103 years!

If you think the mere presence of Epstein is going to fix Cubs baseball, you're even dumber than you made yourselves look in this thread.

Go ahead and ban me now, and when you do, know that I got the last word, because I won't be coming back to look at how all of you retards responded. #11 in '11! :good: \:D/
