If anyone needed any more reason to hope that karma wakes up and hands Boston two more wins, Luongo is an idiot:

http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/9202/luongo-has-even-more-to-say-about-thomas

Translation: Luongo reads all the quotes from the opposing team, took note of the fact that Thomas hasn't said anything nice about him, so he decided to made disparaging remarks about him.

Nevermind that Thomas has given up less than half as many goals in this series as Luongo has.

What a douche.

and just in case you needed MORE reason to hate vancouver..... aaron rome says he wouldn't change his decision if he had a chance to take that hit back. he also is upset that he's suspended

"I've got to play on the edge, and I guess that was a little bit over the edge," Rome said.

"It's a split-second decision," Rome said. "There's no intent to hurt anybody. If I could go back, obviously you don't want anybody to get hurt, but I don't think I'd change the decision."

Yet more bad karma hopefully

Buccigross John Buccigross

After Vancouver won Game 5, the Canucks attempted to sell the broadcast rights to their Stanley Cup parade. NHL said no. Karma said careful.

The list keeps on growing. The entire organization needs to have fire set to it

lol that one reminds me of Philly fans getting pissed that we had our parade plan mapped out after winning game 5. Screw Vancouver though. I feel like they think they are the Red Sox of the NHL.

I'm having a lot of trouble remembering a team that was more hated than this Vancouver squad.

It's one thing to just be a dirty team. There have been plenty of them over the years. But to be dirty, and then be diving little pansies at the same time, and then to be as talented as they are? Yeah, it's a rare thing.

I wonder what Canadians outside of the pacific northwest are thinking about this team. I know Vancouver has a weird relationship with the rest of Canada to begin with, but I wonder if there is even more of a distaste for this team up there like there seems to be here.

halfway convincing article about anti-vancouver media bias

http://vansunsportsblogs.com/2011/06/12/on-stanley-cup-final-coverage-and-bias/

Wow, Barry Rozner got himself a mention.

But that piece is total homerism. He acknowledges some of the reasons why the fans and media don't like this Canucks team. And they are legitimate reasons! But the media isn't casting them in a negative light. Luongo's ridiculously stupid comments about Tim Thomas weren't taken out of context. Lapierre's shameful play isn't being distorted -- it's there for all of us to see.

And as for the Sedins, it's more than the dives. They play like sissies. They'll get into a scrum, do something stupid and then sneak away. And then they'll snap their head back and go down in a heap anytime a stick or elbow gets within three feet of their head.

God I don't feel like working today. Interesting comments from The Rat:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hockey/blackhawks/ct-spt-0612-blackhawks-dave-bolland-c20110611,0,3811045.story

In particular:

Despite the atmosphere, Bolland is concentrating on the screen, and when the Bruins score an early goal, he celebrates with a satisfied "Yes!" He does not hide his rooting interest, making it clear there is no love lost for the Canucks, with whom he battled three consecutive years in the playoffs and has staged personal — and often contentious — battles with their high-flying brother act of Henrik and Daniel Sedin ("I miss the Sedins," he says with a laugh).

"Seeing Vancouver in the Finals is probably the worst thing," says Bolland, who returned from a concussion for Game 3 of the 2011 quarterfinals to spark the Hawks to three consecutive victories before falling in overtime of Game 7. "Trust me, I want the Bruins to win. The dislike (for the Canucks) is really there."

That's cool that Bolland lives near The Pony. That was the bar that the Hawks went to immediately after landing in Chicago from Philly after game 6. I always thought they ended up there because Duncan Keith lives nearby (he lives ~2 blocks from the bar on the corner of Melrose and Paulina), but I guess Bolland does too.

Doc just seemed to get a subtle shot in at Luongo when talking about Thomas -- "graceful in victory and defeat" -- or something like that. Nice.

Schadenfreude.

For me, them blowing this would be just as awesome as what happened last night.

And another goal. HAHAHAHAHA!

Good God, I hope this happens in game 7 too.

Boston is due for a win in Vancouver. The games in Boston haven't even been close. Insane.

Seeing as I want an exciting Game 7 that goes down to the wire, it's a good thing Game 7 is in Vancouver because the Canucks have been absolutely terrible in Boston.

It's also hilarious that Luongo didn't even last 10 minutes in this game. Has anyone ever seen a goalie get yanked quicker than that?

I believe Buff did as well.

I believe he did too. I just read that 5 current Hawks live within a 1 mile radius from one another. The 5 are Keith, Bolland, Brouwer, Bickell and Seabrook.

Classy finish to the game as always Vancouver

Yeah this is as much Boston's fault as anything, but pretty funny just the same. There's nothing better than a Game 7 in the SCF. So glad we didn't have one last year, but can't wait for Wednesday night.
