so winning the Cup 4 times was better

March 26, 1997 game against Colorado was better

but I cannot think of any other games in my life as a Red Wing fan more satisfying then the game tonight. Screw San Jose and their diving team.

They just may pull it off, betcha a penny the Hawks finish ahead of them next season.

I dont like Detroits chances of being better then the Hawks next year, but to be fair I will go ahead and bet that penny.

I don't hate Detroit and I don't know why. My formative hockey years were the early 90's Blackhawk teams. So I should hate the Red Wings. I just don't.

So, strictly based on the fact that Doug Wilson made us spend an extra mil on Hammer, go Red Wings

Sorry go Sharks.

I know too many Red Wings fans that rubbed in this mediocre Hawks season in my face to even consider cheering for them. I want them to feel the pain of coming back from 3-0 to 3-3 and then losing.

I think it is probably because the Wings and Hawks have not met enough in the playoffs. The series in the early 90s(95 maybe) was a sweep that Belfour made closer then it really was, and 2 years ago the Hawks were not quite there yet so it was also somewhat of a mismatch. I think real dislike for other teams is formed in tight playoff series. I somewhat liked San Jose until about a week ago. I don't think the average Hawks fan would care 2 cents about the Canucks if they hadn't played 3 straight years.

I turned away from the SJ/DET game last night to watch the Bulls, and it was 1-0 with maybe 12:00 left. By the time I got back to it they were just burying an EN to make it 3-1. WTF?

Come on San Jose, don't do this. A VAN-DET conference final is almost as bad as a Cards/White Sox World Series.

fair enough, though I hope I was not one of those Wings fans. I am actually pretty content with just making it to 7 games. For 2 yrs I had been frustrated because the Sharks were not better then the Wings, but somehow had won 7 of 8 playoff games. Now that the Wings have shown they are as good I am okay if they fall at this point. Honestly, the best thing about Detroit winning game 7 would be that the Sharks Diving Team would lose.

No not at all. You are a very respectable Wings fan. Its just I want my rival to lose whenever possible you know?

It wouldnt be the worst thing in the world if the sharks lost. Its always funny when that happens.

If the Sharks win, will they play all their games at 10 pm eastern or will they make them play in the late afternoon to accommodate TV?

In any case, go Bruins

Tonight's game is at 9 p.m. ET so I'm guessing they'll have their WCF games (if they make it) at that time also since they'll want to alternate ECF and WCF and have a game each day.

The Sharks couldn't have had a much better first period. A pair of goals and two power play kills also. Bad giveaway by the Red Wings on the second goal.

2nd period was almost a complete switch except the Wings only got one goal...great game so far

Definitely. The third period should be really good.

So does Vancouver or San Jose have more pressure on them to make the Stanley Cup Finals? I'd think it would be Vancouver but San Jose was the No. 1 the last two years and the No. 2 seed the year before that and the closest they've come to the Stanley Cup Finals is getting swept by Chicago last year.

I think Vancouver. They have the big named goalie, they are the top seed and I think several of their top dmen are free agents

Agreed. Still more pressure on Vancouver. Mostly because they play in Vancouver, and not California.

Man I didnt even consider that the WCF was between two teams who historically underachieve in the playoffs. One of those chokers is going to choke less and accidently find themselves in the Stanley Cup Finals.
