since the hawks' season is over (sorry), how about a thread to discuss the rest of the playoffs? hopefully people on this board will still be watching... been several excellent and exciting series so far, and plenty more to come.

game sevens to come: TB @ PIT, MTL @ BOS

western conference semi-finals: DET vs SJ, SJ has home ice; NSH vs VAN, VAN has home ice.

eastern conference semi-finals...

if BOS wins: WSH vs TB/PIT, WSH has home ice; PHI vs BOS, PHL has home ice

if MTL wins: WSH vs MTL, WSH has home ice; PHI vs TB/PIT, PHL has home ice

For some reason I've found myself cheering for TB the last couple of weeks. The two teams I am cheering for the rest of the playoffs are Nashville and Tampa Bay.

I guess I want to kill hockey forever, but whatever.

I am cheering for the Bolts in the East. Of course my all time favorite player is there GM:)

So the top 3 seeds and the 5th seed advance in both conferences. Probably been awhile since the top 3 in both conferences advanced in the same year. I think it happened in the Western Conference last year though.

Looks like the last time was the 95-96 season. The top-four all advanced in the East and the only West upset was No. 5 St. Louis beating No. 4 Toronto.

Lightning in the East and Nashville in the West. I need a week or two off from hockey after the Hawks exit, though.

It's hard but I was able to watch a lot of the 2 games last night but only because they were game 7's.

With the Hawks making it to the conference finals 2 years ago (I didnt watch much of that SCF except game 7) and the Hawks winning it all last year, it was the first time in 3 years I watched playoff hockey with the Hawks already out of it.
