I've rarely disliked a KU player as much as I usually dislike Tyshaun Taylor, but he just had a great 10 minutes or so to finish the first half.

That escalated quickly. I stepped away from the TV with a tie game and 5 minutes later KU is up 10.

I love Tyshawn. He's frustrating a lot of the time, but he can do things that not a lot of other guys can do. TRob is our best player, but Tyshawn is probably our most important.

Perhaps the best reason to love him: "Point Plank'n."

i guess it should make me feel good that isu gave kansas a better game than baylor?

i watched just long enough for thomas robinson to rape a baylor guy so bad he got pregnant. that guy couldn't get a foul called on him at home if he chopped a guy's arm off with an axe.

This was probably Baylor's best chance to win at KU. I don't see any obvious games the Jayhawks are going to lose. Maybe at Missouri or the Octagon of Doom, but they own this conference.

We could easily lose any of @MU, @ISU, @KSU, and @BU. There's also good chance we'll drop a random game we shouldn't. Today was a big win though.

ETA: nothing is more delicious than watching Scott Drew lose.

I hope you're at the computer when ISU goes to the Octagon.

so that piece of [expletive] peoriaman posts yet another update thread on stan simpson, revelling in his struggles. SSR responds: "stay classy, pman", i follow it up with "hahaha", and the giant turd deletes both posts and tells us to "grow up".

everyone pretty much wished simpson well in the thread, then he makes another dumb ambiguous post and i come back with "pman loves stan simpson", which he deletes and sends me a PM "you're pressing your luck".

what a tool.

Sounds like a hot time

sorry to interrupt the gay gush parade of "iu is the greatest!!!" vs. "oh poop!" and the boring bum disciples who want to talk about the lewis jackson injury status. oh boy oh boy oh boy

Just like Cole Aldrich before him.

ps - good call by the B12 coaches on texas a&m. yikes.

Even at that time when I expected us to have a good team I was perplexed by the coaches vote. I thought we'd be 3rd or 4th in the conference at best. Now I'm hoping we don't finish in the bottom 3 or 4.

Bum disciples, haha, you wish we were as entertaining as da bum. You miss your play toy, and it's cute.

What you're really interrupting is Illinois fans calling for Weber's head while you're ranked, tied for first in the B1G, and just beat Ohio St. Please get back to the regularly scheduled programming.

Is Murray State any good? I see that they are top 10 in one poll and are undefeated but it looks like they have a lot of single digit wins against less than impressive teams.

They're certainly not top 10 good. I hope they finish undefeated to see how high they climb in the polls, and to see what the committee does with them.

They're currently sitting at an RPI of 28, which I have trouble seeing go much higher. I'd probably give them a 5-6 seed if they went undefeated, and an 8-9 if they went in with a loss.

That 1996 Princeton team that came into the tournament 25-1 got a 5 seed. The 2006 GW team that came into the tournament 26-1 got an 8 seed. The Ohio Valley is terrible, so Murray State's best win of the year is likely either the Memphis game or whoever they play in the Bracket Busters matchup. Could end up undefeated without playing a single tournament team on the year.

Following up with this, at this point it looks like Murray State's opponent in the Bracket Busters game will be either St. Mary's or Wichita State (Murray State is one of the home teams, and St. Mary's/Wichita State are by far the best road teams in the list, since Gonzaga/BYU/Belmont/Harvard aren't participating and VCU/Creighton/Butler/Cleveland State/Milwaukee are also home teams). I'm not sure a home win against one of those two is any better than a road win at Memphis, certainly not the kind of thing that's going to bump them up to a top 4 seed if they weren't considered there earlier.

I saw that they beat Alaska Anchorage by 2, granted it was in Alaska in that tournament but it's hard to justify a high seed with a result like that, IMO.

The 2006 GW team came into the tournament with 2 losses. They lost in their conference tournament to Temple as well. And don't forget 2003-2004 St. Joe's, who went 27-1 and got a no. 1 seed.

Actually, Alaska Anchorage is considered a very good DII team, definitely better than someone like a Chaminade. Tough to go up there and win.

I'd agree more if that were their only result. Recently they haven't been playing very well, so they're apt to trip up once in conference, but if they do get through the conference slate undefeated, win the conference tourney, and beat St. Mary's/Wichita State in the Bracket Busters game, I could see them getting a 4 seed.

um...

“Royce White is a player of the year candidate in the country for what he does,” Ford said. “Watching Iowa State — by March, they can be a Final Four team, that’s how good and talented they are.”

sarcasm?

It was a lot easier for these ISU players to be player of the year contenders when they were at their respective JUCOs

Yes, it turns out ISU is actually a 4 year university. I was surprised too.
