even funnier was Raftery and Bilas' merciless ripping on Joshua Smith for being so obese

He deserved every moment of it. Wish it would snap him into getting into shape but clearly he doesn't care about playing in the NBA.

Same effing Illini. Can't do crap down the stretch, especially in the half court. Just so stagnant on offense and no playmakers.

I've thought that Illinois had the dumbest set of basketball players on the planet for the last couple of years. After watching this game, I'm now convinced that it has to be a result of some of the worst coaching ever done. It's so frustrating to watch all this talent go completely to waste.

And are they seriously playing basketball in a freaking ballroom? WTF?

they aren't even allowed to dribble the ball, it's all passing and moving without the ball like some ivy league team. i've finally seen enough, get a coach who runs an offense that will take advantage of talent rather than force the talent to play in a system that renders it faceless and impotent.

Bruce Weber is amazing. All the stars are aligning. I heart Bruce Weber.

Did Brandon Paul even play against Richmond? This team iwould be 10th in B10 without Leonard. With him, maybe 7th.

He was in the game, I wouldn't call it playing though. Crandall Head didn't play the entire time in Mexico. Nor Mychael Henry. I really hope Henry redshirts if he's not gonna play at all this year.

God dammit Depaul. That would have been a really nice win over Minnesota.

Depaul was down 1 with 22 secs with the ball and Melvin gets an open lane to the hoop, a minn guy steps in and instead of pulling up for an 8 foot hook shot he runs right into the guy an instead of hoping they don't call the charge and lay it in, he does some random pump fake thing and they call the charge.

So Minnesota goes to the line with 13 seconds left. The guy misses both FTs buy A guy on Minn boxes him out and puts back the second miss. From that point it was the standard awkward 3 four feet behind the line and Depaul loses.

That sucks but it's Depaul so oh we'll.

Edit: sorry for hccf like post. iPhone sucks.

OU couldn't beat teams like Santa Clara under Jeff Capel after Blake Griffin. I'm becoming more optimistic about OU basketball getting any postseason play this year.

Badgers improved to 6-0 with their win over BYU. Sophomore Ben Brust hit 7 3s and the team hit 13. They have hit 68 three's in 6 games so far.

Onto Chapel Hill.

Today, we learned that Illinois is significantly better than the worst team in D-1.

So, at least they have that going for them.

De Paul beats Texas Tech and Arizona State back to back. They are not good, but they are no longer the worst major conference team. .500 is realistic. Go Demons!

Tim Abromaitis out for the season. NIT might not even be guaranteed for ND now. On the bright side, they smeared something called Bryant and are still unbeaten in their creampuff games without him.

IU with a somewhat sloppy win over Butler by 16. Not sure Butler is all that good anyway, but I think it was probably a big game mentally for Indiana.

Curious to see how they play Wednesday night at NC State.

Butler lost to a D3 school recently.

Butler's terrible. IU should have won that game by 30 -- though, honestly, if they could make layups (Watford can't), they would have.

Which I why I said I don't think they are all that good.

I really don't know what to make of IU. I think they are definitely improved, but withholding any judgment until they play better teams on a more regular basis.
