Its not really encouraging we're going to continue to have a small Center, a smallish Guard in Garza, and a tackle playing Guard

Bring back Kreutz has to mean no Garza and Williams. That's the only way you are going to improve the OL. Webb isn't going anywhere. Maybe you upgrade the OT position he doesn't play, but that's not enough. If you have Kreutz and Webb back, you better have a FA OL brought in and a high draft pick starting.

lovie got a two-year extension from the bears:

:banghead:

i don't get why this is so troubling. lovie doesn't call offensive or defensive plays. he dictates team defensive philosophy but that's about all. the players love him. i really don't know why people hate him so much.

wait, it's because he isn't out there making an ass out of himself when things don't go his way. he exercises restraint and serenity, so he can't be a good coach.

carimi is going to be a guy you plug in at LT and then just forget about that position for 10-15 years.

Definitely at RT. Not so sure about LT.

i think they take him if he's there, and, as you said big webb ain't going anywhere. i think you get your bookends right there. but i've though the bears had repaired their line a couple times before and was dead wrong.

Danieal Manning turned down a 3yr/$6m deal from the Bears, which included $2mil guaranteed. He was giving a restricted tender, but that's part of the labor thing...most likely he'll be UFA after the new CBA.

Bears cut bait with DT Harris, Kevin Shaffaer and Hillenmeyer.

That leaves Harrison, Toeina, Melton and Tank Tyler (signed to a future's contract) as the only DTs on the roster. Tyler didn't play in 2010. Harrison was only active 5 games in 2010.

Only leaves Urlacher and Briggs at LB, along with 2 future's guys I've never heard of.

They needed an excuse to draft defense heavy.

I wonder if they might re-sign Harris cheaper?

It all but guarentees that they draft DT/DL twice, go OL twice, and use the rest to round out their defense. Sadly the Bears won't make much of an effort to work on the skill positions.

They never have. This is a team that signed an over-the-hill Muhsin Muhammad that clearly had a twilight-of-his-career year season and thought they solved the wide out position. They just don't care.

Time to pick up Shaun Rogers and Sidney Rice and draft the OT form Colorado.

1 for 3. I don't want Rogers or Solder.

I don't think Solder will be there for the Bears to pick anyway.

Saw these on Twitter. Not really newsworthy, just figured I'd post

Illinois linebacker Martez Wilson met with the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints and the Houston Texans.

Mississippi State offensive tackle Derek Sherrod said he spoke to three teams at both Senior Bowl and combine: Ravens, Bears and Colts.

I know someone mentioned about Manning's turning down the Bears offer..

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Bears-safety-Manning-rejected-contract-extensio?urn=nfl-327375

"This currently makes him a restricted free agent, which means that the Bears would have the chance to match any offer that he received from another team. If the Bears decided not to match, the team would owe Chicago a second-round pick."

Is this true? Or is this something the owners/players union want to change in the CBA? If the Bears can get a good 2nd round pick, I would be willing to let Manning go at that price IMO. Just curious...
