That's why I have so much of a problem with ESPN. They're too big at this stage and instead of just reporting news, they slant it to fit themselves and only report what's benficial to them making money. Not necessarily the truth or even what people may or may not be interested in.

A perfect example is this: I was flipping through channels and landed on ESPN for something. Saw their ticker at the bottom of the screen was coming up on NBA scores. Then, it came up, and they only showed the Miami Heat score, followed by stats from each of the big 3 and whoever it was that was their 4th leading scorer that night.

This intrigued me, so I stayed on the channel and next time NBA came around on the ticker, it showed ALL NBA scores, including the Heat's score again and their stats, but no one else's. Stuck around for one more go around and sure enough, they flat out alternate this, as the third time it was JUST the Heat's score again.

To me, this is just one case of ESPN trying to push something down fans throats, since they've already committed so many games to the Heat and all the columns and everything else. And I don't think fans give a flying %$#$ about them.

The Cutler thing will probably go the same way, since Cutler doesn't pander to the network, they see no reason to paint him in any sort of a positive light whatsoever. I'm just going to try and ignore all the damn idiots, but they all became idiots by watching ESPN to begin with.

Anybody watching the Lovie/Angelo press conference? What channel is it on?

yes, anyone? I'm curious as hell

“I haven’t seen it before,” Smith said of the kind of criticism Cutler has gotten from around the NFL. “It seems like if you’re in that fraternity you’d be stepping up for your fellow man. Especially when you don’t know. You don’t know what’s going on. As far as Jay, Jay didn’t take himself out of the game. If you’re going to be attacking somebody, attack me, as a head football coach — and our medical staff — we’re the ones. He wanted to go back in. He was injured and went back in in the second half. So I see it as the complete opposite.”

Smith told the reporters present that he was surprised there was so much scrutiny on Cutler.

“For most of you it seems like the storyline has been about whether our quarterback is a tough guy,” Smith said. “Our quarterback is a tough guy. He wanted to win the game as much as anyone. It’s pretty simple what happened yesterday. Before the half Jay hurt his knee, showed a lot of toughness to continue to play with it. Right before the half, when we threw the pick, the medical staff — we all — made the decision that he couldn’t go. We took him in to try to work on him, which we did. But Jay, you know, we got the treatment there at halftime, we weren’t sure if he would be able to go. He wanted to go and tried to go the second half as he went back in that first series. You never want a player to be out on the football field if he can’t protect himself and can’t perform his duties. That’s what happened.

“For guys to take a shot that weren’t there, to try to look at his body language and figure out whether he was hurt because he was on the sideline, or, ‘What I would do in that situation,’ you don’t know what you would do in that situation. The guys that know what he was going through were the guys on our sideline. And you go to our players and see exactly what went on. I have no questions about any of that for our football team.”

Just as I suspected. Cutler would have went out there if someone detached one of his legs from his entire person in an effort to win that game.

The Bears would've won that game if Urlacher takes that the distance.

Absolutely impossible to assert. I'm continually amazed at people who think that one play can go differently without the rest of the game changing as well. Extremely unlikely that GB allows that 90-second TD drive by Hanie if they're tied or up 7 as opposed to 14.

OMG that scumbag Cutler is too hurt to finish the game but not hurt enough to go out to dinner afterwards with his celebrity girlfriend. I want him outta here!!!!!!

Jay Cutler took his wounded knee to Mastro's Steakhouse in River North on Sunday night after the Chicago Bears' 21-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game. Cutler and girlfriend Kristin Cavallari were joined by 11 others iin Mastro's private dining room upstairs.

Trent Dildo was saying"you have to finish this game". I mean seriously? After the coach pulls you, you are going to run out onto the field and take control?

these people are [expletive] idiots.

So honestly, what did you think happened? They didn't score on the first series, and Jay figured the game was over so he faked an injury? I mean, I understand it's retrospect, but do you understand how ridiculous you sound?

Instead of getting pissy with me, why don't you go look up Asante Samuel on Twitter and be ignorant to him?

Haha, I'M getting pissy.

I haven't been following any media junk except for what has been posted in this thread. Cutler officially isn't a bitch, which I knew all along. Our team left their hearts on the field yesterday, and lost to a superior team. I look forward to next season, and hope Cutler bounces back stronger and more refined.

DA BEARS!!!

I'd rather get pissy then get pissed on

I think this should be a season ticket disqualifier. If you thought Cutler was faking it, then your season tix go to me :)

Man I'm a sore loser. I just hate everybody today.

I abruptly told my boss I wasnt in the mood to talk.

granted, there is alot more going in in my life besides the Bears, that aren't good and I'm having the shittiest weekend in forever, that wasnt a stable move on my part.

The last comment is bizarre. He shouldn't be pissed about a perception people stubbornly hang on to even when it is clear it is not reality?

One more thing...ive seen people suggest cutler should have taken a cortisone shot and gotten back out there. First of all, I am pretty sure you need to let the shot sit in for a period of time before you can play in a game. Second of all, you cannot give cortisone shots to diabetics because it immediate spikes your blood sugar levels. So unless you wanted Cutler to stumble out there wobbly and foaming from the mouth, that probably wouldn't be a good idea.

A real QB would have done it.

not to mention its a pain killer and would have done nothing to actually stabilize his knee.

hell, even wrapping the hell out of it to keep it stable would have simply made him entirely immobile. then he would have died from a concussion with that o-line.

I've become so disillusioned with the Chicago media over the last few years, and this doesn't help anything. They're sensationalists and generally overly negative, biased, and far from objective. It's like they all have an ax to grind to make themselves stand out better. It's not just the media either, I've come to look at the average Chicago sports fan as a meatball. They're becoming aggressively opinionated just like their favorite talking heads on TV. Everyone has a [expletive] opinion. Why can't the media, and THIS CITY stop being such hacks? Why can't we [expletive] DEFEND our own?

We can go on and on about Cutler but someone needs to explain to me why if Cutler didn't quit after the Dallas game, and 20 other various times before the bye week, he'd quit in the [expletive] NFC Championship Game. DOES NOT COMPUTE.

Also, no I still don't believe in the SI Cover Jinx, but who were the 2 teams on the cover of SI this week? The Bears and the Jets right? Also, Cutler was very promiently featured on that cover. Of course the Jets and Bears were the 2 underdogs and Cutler is the star QB for the Bears so of course he's gonna be on the cover, but don't let facts get in the way of a good jinx.
