Bennett was out with an ankle and Davis became the possession WR rather than just giving up. Would Bennett have played had it been a must-win? Possibly, but it wouldn't have changed the results.

You don't think GB would have played their defense differently if Bennett had been in there instead of Davis?

No, they wouldve given Bennett the underneath routes all day like they did Davis.

In that case, I think Bennett would've burned them for a lot more yards than Davis.

not Bennett, Knox would have burned them.

Hester gave a half-hearted jump (I'm not sure he would have reached it anyways) on the Cutler pick and then walked to the sideline and didn't bother to try and run down the Packer DB. I definitely see what raw saw on that play.

Boring game last night, but I was surprised that the announcers didn't give a bit of credit to Rams #86 (Long?) making the TD saving tackle on Seattle's first big play from scrimmage last night. Long pass down the right side of the field, receiver juked the DB out of his shorts and then here comes big #86 to make the play.

James Hall. He had a really good season and one that he probably won't come close to replicating in 2011.

Yeah, I knew Long didn't sound right. I don't watch the Rams much, so other than Jackson and Bradford, I'm not good with names on that team.

They kept on and on all game about how Hall was one of the young Rams to watch for and how he had a fabulous year and one of the best pash rushers in the game (?) Not sure how you missed it all. Of course, by the end of the game with Okung completely keeping him at bay with no ankles left, might have reduced the amount of talking about him.

As a Seahawks fan, I am a bit irritated at the "boring" comment. But I am biased obviously. Looking objectively, I can see where it was ugly due to lack of big talent. But on the other hand, it was a sudden death football game and the Seahawks went for it, the Rams didnt. That's why it was boring. It should have felt more like a playoff game to the fans with "no dog in the fight".

For all those who made fun of the Seahawks when Carroll was hired, eat crow (but not a full plate). I love the enthusiasm and fire. Its fun to watch and be a fan of a team with a leader like him and Matt Hasselbeck. I thought it was interesting to hear that Carroll is actually the 2nd oldest coach in the NFL behind Coughlin. Didnt realize that...

Anywho...I will call it. Seahawks 24, Saints 21

The bottom line is the Packers defense is getting way too much credit for what happened yesterday. As an offense you don't just go from scoring 40 and 38 points in back-to-back weeks to 3 the following week without there being circumstances. Even the best defenses rarely hold teams to 3 points. Our offense either took a step back yesterday or just simply quit. Based on what I saw, I'm going with the latter.

I wouldn't call getting into the playoffs at 7-9 a triumphant "eat crow" moment for Pete Carroll. He had a decent debut season, and lucked out on being in a horrible division. he could still complete tank the organization.

and unfortunately, I really think the Saints will handle Charlie much better then the Rams did. If Hasslebeck plays, Saints win big.

And the Bears defense is better than the Pats or Giants. I didn't say not to give any credit to GB's defense. I simply said they're getting too much.

GB has had a very good pass defense all year, and a sketchy run defense. I think that beared out yesterday. I guess I just dont see where they're getting undue credit.

So you think us scoring 3 points was due entirely to the Packers defense?

My post was in response to all the Packers fans and media who actually think the Bears were giving 100% yesterday.

I guess only Bears players could tell you if they were really giving 100%. And they would probably never say so if they weren't.

I'm just going to wait 2 weeks and watch the team, see what happens.

Yeah Seattle is awful. It would literally be the biggest upset in NFL history if they were to beat the Saints. The line will probably be something like 17

I don't think it'll be that high. Somewhere in the 13-14 range. High but not unheard of for a playoff game. I believe the Packers Patriots Super Bowl was 17.

It's probably unheard of for a home team to be that much of an underdog in a playoff game, though.

I'm seeing 10.

Which game was that for?

Looking like anything from 10.5 to 12 for this game.

Yeah good show, Pete Carroll. Stumbling to a 3-7 finish was very impressive

Seriously. Eat crow because he led them to a steller 7-9 record? That's hilarious

Seriously? No one's eating crow over the Seahawks being the biggest joke to ever make the NFL playoffs.

plus, i don't remember anyone making fun of the seahawks for hiring carroll. i think most people here were either neutral or positive about it.

if anything, people were making fun of USC.

If the playoff seeding was by record...

Instead, we'd have the No. 5 Eagles playing at the No. 4 Packers (both are 10-6, but Green Bay beat Philadelphia head to head in Week 1), and the No. 6 Seahawks hitting the road for No. 3 Chicago (11-5).

The Saints would be #2 over Chicago due to conference record.
