it's obvious that they can't go deep because jay will get killed on the 7-step drop, not because he's being limited in any way.

I think it is a little of both. Jay is not a good decision maker when under pressure.

that is absurd.

You think Jay is a good decision maker? I think that is his biggest weakness.

but you also think he is the weak link so i really don't put much stock in that assessment.

his decision-making has saved our butts plenty of times this season.

And it has hurt it too (the Washington game). He has to be better at this. And he has been. In my opinion, Jay was the weak link. Not anymore.

Right now, the only team in the NFL that seems scary to play would be New England. So as long as the Bears don't end up playing them...ahh, crap.

And the sky is clearly not blue.

Seriously get real. He makes bad decisions under pressure but he also makes terrific decisions under pressure as well. I wouldn't say he's elite in terms of making good decisions under pressure but he's not a poor decision maker. It's like you only recollect the times he made bad decisions in your mind as they are a lot more glaring than when he makes good decisions, which is all the time. Cutler has constantly been under pressure this entire year and he's responded with a pretty good season.

I think we can beat them, but I don't know if we will. NE is definitely scary, but they are less scary than in years past. By that I mean they've looked beatable in several games this year. I definitely respect them though and recognize that they could easily whoop us.

New England is an even more bipolar Philly. Better offense, worse defense. I know the Bears won a "shootout" with Philly (one that was 31-13 before the Bears coasted the rest of the game), but I don't know how many 30 point games the offense has in them yet.

If Jay and the offense can avoid disaster drives we can play with anyone. If we take a sack and get stuffed a few times, OK. It's when we start compounding errors by throwing picks and killing our own offensive series that we get into trouble. The thing is, with our D and special teams we can semi bail ourselves out.

Our offensive line/dumb receivers will kill a drive, guaranteed twice a game, but if it doesn't turn into a pick 6 or kill a go ahead drive we can over come it.

btw, after today Jay's QB rating for the year is up to 92.8. That's 12th in the league, but he's starting to get bunched up with a lot of guys who are within 2 points of him. A good game next week could get him into the top 10.

Passer rating is for losers.

It has its flaws no doubt. But its a mainstream statistics that will effect the level of respect Jay gets in the media.

If Jay leads us to an 11+ win season no one will (rightly) give a [expletive] about his passer rating.

Christ, neckbeard is still ahead of Cutler and Matt Ryan on passer rating. It has it's uses but you've got to watch the games to get an idea of what's actually happening out there.

good to see we can still win a game after our defense plays really crappy and the special teams craps the bed and the offense is merely ok. got a couple calls here but also missed out on some plays too (idonije fumble recovery!)

if we play like this against the pats we get blown out, easy. still should be fun, hope we can go 2-2 down the stretch but it'll be hard as hell. heck, with the way the vikings are bipolar we could go 0-4 and manage to play good football in every one of those games. it would be a shame too, this team deserves to at least taste the playoffs, even if they get ousted in the early rounds.

The Tampa loss was big. With that loss, we can no longer miss the playoffs at 12-4. That scenario requires the Packers to beat the Giants and us to win every game but Week 17, which would put the Giants two games behind us going into Week 17, thus giving us a WC spot at the very least.

It would be nice to win the division and have HFA over Atlanta, but with them playing Carolina twice and Seattle once in the last four games, I doubt we'd have finished ahead of them anyway, so them winning today is fine.

I contemplated not saying this because it's very unlikely...but if the Bears win next week and the Lions find a way to beat GB, we would have a chance to clinch the division the following week on MNF with a win over the Vikings, regardless of what GB does that week. If it unfolded that way, the Bears would move to 5-0 in the division while GB would be at 3-2. So we'd have at least a two-game lead on GB with two weeks remaining, meaning GB could only end up tied with us at best. Then if that happens we would get the tiebreaker because of division record, 5-1 over 4-2. Again, very unlikely but that's definitely the soonest we could clinch.

For like the fiftieth time, you are a smart guy but get intentionally stupid when reading my posts.

Jay has been throwing the ball around pretty much all season. I never said he was managing the game. But he was throwing the ball all around and turning it over. His yardage is slightly scaled back now, but he just isn't turning the ball over like he was early on.

everything you say is idiotic. You don't know a damn thing about football.

I had to quote this because it's the truth.

After reading this entire thread, your argument makes zero sense and you come off as a stammering bumbling bafoon when trying to explain how you think Jay Cutler doesn't throw deep balls, can't make good decisions and how the offense has phased him out since the bye. Your "argument" is not pointing or articulated, but rather stupid and all over the place.

The "Wilson vs NSBB" argument is boring and dumb. Can we please stop having it?

There are approximately 2 million better conversations about the Bears to be having.

We get NE at home, which makes it at least an interesting matchup for me. I think we lose that game, but maybe........who knows.

Didn't really start drinking until after the game, but if my memory holds I think the players who stood out in a good way were Cutler, Bennett, Peppers, Idonije, Gould, Manumanamama and Forte. Moore was a little up and down. Maynard was probably decent.

The linebackers were disappointing. Did Tommie Harris play? I rememeber seeing Harrison and Toeaina, but not doing anything special.

I don't remember seeing Tommie. Olsen actually did a really good job blocking yesterday which is a stunner. There was one play that they pointed out of TV, but there were a couple more where he made a nice block either down field or in the backfield to extend plays.

Hester was invisible in all fascets of the game yesterday. Knox didn't seem to get targeted a lot at all. If it wasn't for Bennett, the WRs would have graded really poorly yesterday.

I watched the whole game but for the life of me cannot remember Julius Peppers recording a sack as the stats suggest.

Stanton took off to his left and Peppers pushed him out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage. I can't remember much more than that except the announcers referencing it later in the game.
