In relevant news, the Bungles have tied up their game with the Saints.

I hate how all my fantasy players are on NFC playoff contenders.

Brees

Vick

Ivory

Bradshaw

Roddy White

Tony Gonzalez

I always find myself cheering for NFC contenders and then having to stop myself.

Malign the D all you want, but it was nails pretty much the whole second half.

Special teams coverage wasn't really good this week, and it would be kind of nice one week if they'd actually recover a fumble, but overall they played pretty well defensively.

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

OK, I can breathe again. Jay rules.

you mean weak link?

if he hadn't missed on those 5 passes the Bears would surely have won by 21 points

He fumbled inside the 10, the Bears would have won a little more comfortably.

Then again, if Jay Cutler wasn't [expletive] awesome the Bears would have lost easily.

I still can't believe this team lost at home to the Seahawks and Redskins in consecutive weeks, or that challenging a fumble would have made the difference in one of them.

Detroit got 91 yards on 2 plays before the half. They got 49 yards on 24 plays in the entire 2nd half.

The rush by Best was inexplicable.

The TD catch n run by Johnson was all Johnson.

Up to the minute standings:

With a Saints loss:

East:

Eagles 8-4

Giants 8-4

North:

Bears 9-3

Packers 8-4

South:

Falcons 9-2 (vs. TB at 3:15 PM)

Saints 8-4

Buccaneers 7-4 (vs. ATL at 3:15 PM)

West:

Who cares? I think the Rams are still leading because only the 49ers have played so far

1. Falcons 9-2

2. Bears 9-3

3. Eagles 8-4

4. Rams 5-6

5. Giants 8-4

6. Saints 8-4

----------------

7. Packers 8-4

8. Buccaneers 7-4

I'm gonna cheer for the Falcons in the late game. I don't think the Bucs are good enough to win a playoff spot but I'd rather them not linger around. That way it will be 6 teams playing for 5 spots and only 1 be left out.

If that lack of a challenge costs us a playoff spot, it should still cost Lovie his job, even if we go 11-5 and don't make it.

That was awful. It's gonna take at least 11 wins to secure a playoff spot in the NFC. Bears need to go 2-2 over the last 4 which means a guaranteed win over the 9-2 Pats, 9-2 Jets or 8-4 Packers in Lambeau.

Am I crazy for wanting to face the Giants again?

A little bit if you watched our offensive line's performance today and remember the Giants D line.

The good thing is that the Giants play Philly and GB coming up. So, AT LEAST one of the three 8-4 teams have at least 1 more loss coming. If Giants lose both, Bears are likely going to get in either way. If the Giants win both, the Bears are likely going to get in. If the Giants go 1-1, the Bears are also in good shape because they beat both Philly and GB.

*Comes with the assumption that Tampa will continue their season of not beating a good team and lose today and vs. NO.*

I agree we benefit from having the Giants play 2 teams we're battling with. If they go 1-1 and we go 1-1 we're still up a game with 2 other games to go.
