It sure seems like Boise State is gonna get screwed one way or another. If one of Oregon/Auburn wins, it looks like TCU will probably be the non-AQ that gets in the national championship game. If both lose, it's possible both TCU and Boise State could get in...so yeah...TCU-BSU...again. *sigh*

pretty boring slate of games if college gameday is going to columbus to watch ohio st beat penn st by 20.

when was the last time Gameday was on a campus that was hosting a 3:30 game? The primetime games must be awful

Dangit, and that eliminates the possibility of them coming to Iowa City for the OSU game in two weeks.

Georgia's passing game is going to give AU some problems....I would think both teams are going to score 30+ points in this game.

I'm actually pretty excited about tomorrow night's game between NIU and Toledo. Both teams are 5-0 in conference play and the winner basically has a spot in the MAC title game locked up.

I'm attending my first LSU game in a long time Saturday, as the wife and I are going to watch them play ULM. I have no idea who I'm rooting for. LSU would be embarrassed with a loss, but I love my Warhawks, even though our biggest win in the last few years was at Bama.

I think I'm just going to go, have a good time, and enjoy the game regardless of what happens.

Last week? Weren't they in Salt Lake City last week for TCU-Utah or am I imagining things

It'll be frustrating for Boise State if they go undefeated, and the national championship is between Oregon and TCU, two teams Boise defeated last year with pretty much the same group of players.

I don't know anything about college scheduling so this question will be bad. But since BSU gets screwed year in and year out because of SOS can't they just schedule some tougher teams? Whats their restriction there? The conference they play in?

20 of 22 starters, to be exact. ESPN's latest BCS bowl projections doesn't even have Boise State in a BCS bowl. I mean seriously?

They shouldn't have to schedule "one and dones." They just announced that they're doing a 2 for 1 with Michigan State starting in 2012, with MSU getting the two home games. I think that's fair.

I completely understand where Boise's coming from in that regard. They've shown that they'll go on the road, as long as you play up there once.

There's a couple of things:

1) Their conference is almost always going to drag them down. 2/3 of their games are in conference and strong OOC scheduling is only going to help them so much.

2). It's hard for top teams to play them because of the heavy emphasis on the polls. You're likely to get beat and even if you don't you always run the risk of the pollsters saying Boise isn't that good because they don't have many other chances for signature wins. If you're a top team, you'd much rather schedule Oklahoma or Alabama than Boise because you'll get more respect in the polls for blowing out those teams.

I still don't understand the agreement between BSU and MSU. They play a game in 2012 and then don't play each other again until 2022 and 2023. That seems a little ridiculous.

It would be so great to just thump Northwestern for once. They're not good this year but you know it will be a total dogfight and they'll probably win. Just a terrible matchup opponent.

No kidding...I missed that announcement. That'll be awesome for them to get to play some games against the Big Ten.

If there's one thing I am certain it's there is no way the voters will allow Boise State to play TCU in the title game. If they have to vote a 1 loss LSU, Ohio State, Wisconsin, etc over Boise they will. Sucks for Boise but the voters will not allow 2 non-BCS schools to play in their championship game.

Tennessee/Ole Miss is going to be tough. It sounds like Masoli is going to play and I just don't know that we can slow them down enough. Hopefully we can score on them, but we may well lose in a shootout.

Playing at home is big and coming off the Memphis win should have the players' confidence high, but Ole Miss is the better team so Bray will have to play very well and, hopefully, the offensive line will block a little for him.

Ole Miss probably wins, but if we can pull off the win, I feel a whole lot better about sweeping November.

I doubt they allow one if they can help it.

Huh?

http://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls/projections?season=2010&week=10

One has them in the Rose Bowl, the other in the Sugar Bowl.

I'll see if I can find it. There was one that had Oklahoma State in a BCS game instead of Boise State last night.

It makes sense based on how the bowls are picked that Boise could get left out.

If Oregon and Auburn win out,

Big 10 winner locked into Rose: let's say Wisconsin right now

Big XII winner locked into Fiesta: Nebraska

ACC winner locked into Orange: Virginia Tech

So there would be 5 slots left. The Rose Bowl would be contractually obligated to take TCU to fill Oregon's slot. The Sugar would be next and they would want to pick an SEC team if they can. A 1 loss or maybe even a 2 loss LSU team (or possibly a 2 loss Arkansas team if they win out) would be a logical choice for them.

Then the Sugar gets to pick again. This would probably be the only place left for Boise to go. But the Sugar might be concerned about Boise's ability to travel and could easily pick a Ohio State, a Stanford, or somebody like that who's left out there.

After the Sugar comes the Orange. If VT is sitting in the game they aren't picking Boise to face them since they already played this season. They'll select an at-large.

Finally comes the Fiesta and they'll be forced to pick the Big East winner which none of the other bowls wanted.

It's bad for Boise because if a major conference team finishes 3rd or 4th in the overall standings they automatically qualify even if they don't win their conference. But Boise will not automatically qualify even if they hold on to 4th. The Fiesta would probably want Boise again but they aren't going to be able to pick them.

There are lots of scenarios where Boise's chance of getting picked increases but there are several scenarios in where they aren't likely to get picked.
