A Rod in 1996... Can anybody tell me if anyone else was younger than Castro in their first All Star game? So far I found Griffey Jr, A Rod, and Mantle... Pretty impressive company right there.

Al Kaline was 20 when he started in 1955 and Dwight Gooden pitched in relief in 1984 at age 19. There are undoubtedly more. Still impressive company.

I thought Id mention that NSBB darling Steve Stone was on the Score the other morning, and pretty much said that no player on either side of town should be "untouchable". When they brought up Starlin Castro, he half jokingly said that maybe Starlin Castro and Andrew Cashner for David Price and Evan Longoria if the Rays were looking to save money. I dont think Id poo poo on that deal.

Same. Except even in their money situation, I don't think the Rays even consider that offer seriously.

 

Maybe Starlin, Cashner, Brett Jackson, interesting lower regarded prospect for Longoria and Price. Even then I have a hard time saying no to that.
