According to a source with first-hand knowledge of James' plans, the Larry King interview that was shot Tuesday and will air Friday on CNN was only the beginning of his elaborate scheme to draw unprecedented attention to his courting. James, according to the source, is in discussions with Nike to create a new shoe for every visit along his free agent path starting July 1. The shoes would have the date of the visit printed, with James already having scripted his itinerary for the Free Agency Tour 2010.

Wow...I don't want him anymore. This is all a publicity stunt that ends with him back in Cleveland. Nike probably asked him to throw the series against the Celtics in order to build the drama. OK, maybe not but wow that is ridiculous.

If he is going to play this dramatic game that potentially costs us top FAs because we court him for too long and they lose interest in Chicago and sign elsewhere, I'd rather just not go after him.

I know if I'm a Clippers fan, I definitely want to commemorate that one time LeBron talked to Elgin Baylor for 10 minutes before running the [expletive] out of the Staples Center.

And for as much as nutjob Cavs fans are disowning him already for daring to talk about going elsewhere, he's going to be an even bigger hero when he re-signs

If he goes back to Cleveland, my feeling is that he becomes the greatest player to never win a championship.

How can you possibly predict something like that?

They've never done it, even with 7 years of arguably the greatest player of his time.

We're sports fans. Ridiculously premature predictions is what we do.

Jordan didn't win a title til his 7th season. And LeBron is 2 years younger than Jordan was when he won his 1st title.

They're Cleveland. They don't win stuff.

I never said I was making a hard core prediction, btw. It's just a feeling.

It's an incredibly douchey thing to do but you really don't want him any more?

Somehow I think if/when Lebron is dropping 40/12/13 on the Bulls next year on some other team you'll think not wanting him because of an offseason ad campaign will seem pretty silly.

Might as well convince yourselves he's not coming, because it looks to me like all the "He's going to Chicago" talk was just to drum up another city on his tour.

I don't want him if he's going to make this whole FA thing into a big extravaganza that lingers until mid-August. I'd rather try to scoop up Bosh and sign and trade for Johnson, then make LeBron the number 1 priority, sit around and wait until August, see Bosh goto LA in a S+T for bynum, see Joe Johnson go to New York, Wade stay in Miami with Amare, and then finally LeBron "decides" to stay with Cleveland after his big dog and pony show, leaving us fighting with the Knicks for Carlos Boozer and David Lee.

Now if we could scoop up Bosh in a sign and trade on July 1st, and decided we were going to wait for LeBron, I'd be ok with that. We just can't take the risk of striking out by putting the ball in the court of Mr. Ego.

Well I agree with that. We can't go after Lebron to the exclusion of everyone else--although it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to miss out on giving Joe Johnson a bad contract. I'd rather just wait on Melo next year.

Supposedly Thibs is going to bring Ron Adams and Mo Cheeks in to be assistants on his staff. 2 very good choices, and a great start at putting together a great staff.

chicagosports.com[/url]"]The Bulls have presented Tom Thibodeau with a three-year offer to become the 18th head coach in Bulls franchise history and Thibodeau is prepared to accept, according to sources. The deal should be finalized shortly.
